Tajikistan - On 30.10.2025, the National Bank of Tajikistan released a new 100 somoni commemorative note. This note was issued to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the creation of the national currency - Somoni. The Tajikistani somoni was named after Ismail Somoni (Ismail Samani), a national hero and the father of the Tajik nation...

Tonga - This is a full set of seven nd2008 specimen notes with new designs. This is the third series of banknotes issued by the National Reserve Bank of Tongo, since 1992. This is also the first time the 100 pa'anga denomination is introduced and also the first Hybrid note too...

Czechoslovakia - Posted here are five notes issued between 1985 to 1989. This is the last of the Czechoslovakia banknotes series before the country split into two nations on 01.01.1993. The separation of Czechoslovakia was necessary as the two main groups of people, mainly the Czechs and Slovaks, are different ethnically and culturally. The separation was known as the "Velvet divorce", and it was done in a peaceful manner with no arm conflicts or loss of lives. It was reported that the separation was decided by politicians from both sides, without a referendum being called, despite that public opinion at that time was in favour of preserving the country as one. The division of assets was done on a two-to-one ratio in favour of the Czech republic, reflecting the population of Czechoslovakia back then. At the time of the separation, the Czechs and Slovaks combined accounted for two-thirds of the population.

Mexico - In celebrating the beginning of the FIFA Football 2026 final, I thought what better way to post a set of Mexico banknotes for this special occasion. Posted below are the five polymer notes of 100 pesos all printed with the date of 06.01.2021. This is the third issue of the historical identity and natural heritage series. This series was first introduced with the notes printed with the date of 08.05.2020. The second prints are all printed with the date of 31.08.2020, which I do not have yet...

Honduras -  This is a 200 lempiras released on 20.01.2026. The planning and printing of this note was first announced on 23.08.2023. A total of 20 million pieces were printed by Crane Currency in Malta. On 12.03.2026, the government of Honduras instructed all banks to cease distributing this note to the public for circulation. This note barely lasted 51 days and for those notes that have been released since January 2026 are still legal tender and no doubt any circulated notes returned back to the bank will not be reissued to the public again. Initially I had no intention to get this note until I saw this news. This note was issued to honor Bertha Isabel Caceres Flores, a leader in the field of Ecology. This is also the first time a female portrait is featured on a Honduras banknote, even though it did not last that long. This note should be treated as a commemorative note and as such I have also posted this same note to my commemorative banknotes section...
