Sweden - A very nice set of new series of notes even though it is not a full set yet. This is the first of the two stages for the release of the new series. These four notes were released to the public on 1.10.2015. All
notes depict a well known Swedish person on the front with common features such as yellowish omron rings on the left, the three Swedish crowns on the bottom right and all notes have a design of the map of Sweden on the back. It seems that letter B is the first prefix for this newly release. The height of each notes are all measured at 66mm and the length of each note is extended by approx. 6.9mm from 119.5mm (20 Kroner) to 154mm (1000 Kroner). The remaining two notes (100 and 500 Kroner) will be made available sometime in October 2016. There are not many countries left in western Europe that are still having it's own currency, and despite Sweden is a member of the EU community since 1.1.1995, they have yet to adopt the Euro currency system. In all only 3 western countries still having it's own currency identity. The other two are the United Kingdom (including the Channel Islands, Isle of Man
and Gibraltar) and Denmark. Out of the current 28 EU members, only 19 member States are using the Euro.

Oman – This is a 1 Rial error note issued on 18.11.2015 celebrating the nation’s 45th National Day. Oman’s
national’s days is celebrated on the 18th of November. Unfortunately this issue was short lived as it was withdrawn on the same day it was released to the public due to error(s) printed on the note. The most obvious error was the wrong Hijri Year date printed. The year printed on the note on the front is 1427 (١٤٢٧) but it should be 1437 (١٤٣٧ - ie Georgian year 2015). The difference is the character ٢ instead of ٣. And you think they would have done their homework to ensure simple mistake
like this would not had happened. How can such a simple mistake be overlooked? This error was not spelling of names or places related, but just a simple year. Surely this note had been vetted by authority of the Central Bank, perhaps not one but few staffs and don't tell me that these people have no idea what the Hijri year should be? I
doubt this error can be blamed on the printer as final design of the note has to be approved by the Bank before going into production. Even if this was the printer's faults, the authority of the Central Bank should have picked up this error before distributing them for circulations. This is a huge embarrassment to the authority in Oman. In addition to this, it was also reported that the national flag on the mast over the AL-Alam Palace was missing too. I do not believe this would matter for a recall if the Hijri Year was printed correctly. Others also claimed that the
portrait of the Sultan should be positioned on the right side of the note. As for the note itself, unlike the 2010 40th National Day celebration, this was the only note issued for this special occasion. On the front of the note, it depicts the portrait of Sultan Qaboos bin Said and his facsimile signature, the National Emblem, the Arabic words of 45th National day, Al-Alam Palace. On the back, it has the 45th National Day logo, the Sultan Qaboos University, desert white butterfly (a native of Oman) and wild flower. Unlike the last issues, this is just a paper note and not a hybrid. No doubt that come 2020 year, we will see more commemorative notes celebrating the nation’s 50th National Day Jubilee celebration. The last time a one Rial note was issued was in 2005 celebrating the 35th National Day. Given that this note has now been withdrew from the public, will we be seeing a new one with the correct Hijri Year date later? It should be noted that despite this was a very short issue, there are plenty to offer in the market. I am sure many of these notes were retained by many bank employees for obviously reason. Asking price at the moment is still quite high for a nominal face value, and this is expected. As this is a low denomination, I do not expect
the price to come down significantly later either as the holding cost to many is very nominal.

Canada - This is a Queen Elizabeth ll Commemorative note released on 9.9.2015 celebrating the Queen's reign since 1952 as Queen of United Kingdom, and Queen of Canada. Apart from United Kingdom and Canada, Queen Elizabeth
ll is also the Queen for few other Commonwealth nations including Australia and New Zealand. The design for this commemorative note is the same as the current $20 Polymer note except that a portrait of the Queen with tiara taken in 1951 by Yousuf Karsh is added to large window. This is the first time that the Queen portrait appears on a Canadian banknotes with her tiara on. This is also the same portrait (without the tiara) first appears on the Canada 1954 Landscapes series of banknotes. Forty millions pieces printed for this special occasion. This is the
third commemorative note issued by Canada. The first was the $25 dated 6.5.1935 celebrating the Silver Jubilee of King George V and then in 1967, a $1 note commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Confederation of Canada. Bank of Canada has also announced that it will also issue another commemorative banknote in 2017 celebrating the nation 150th Year of Federation.

Jamaica - The is the second print of the new version of the $100 Hybrid note. The
design for this denomination is the same as the previous issued but it's
dated 01.01.2014. Like the previous $50 Hybrid note, the serial on the
top right corner is printed with the wave shape effect and the last 3
digits of the serial number is printed in greenish colour. Like the
current $50 Hybrid note, this note is manufactured with a combination of
protective polyester film layered around a cotton fiber core. The
polyester film on the note makes it more durable. This note was printed
by Giesecke & Devrient (G&D).

New Zealand - These are the first of the two "Brighter Monies" series that issued
recently, replacing those first polymer notes issued since 1999. Whilst
the design are not the same, the main features still are ie Sir Edmund
Hillary, Mt Everest and yellow-eyed penguin for the $5 and Kate Sheppard
and blue ducks for the $10. Additional Maori words are also added to
the notes with "Te Putea Matua" on the front and "Aotearoa" on the back.
I believe the words Te Putea Matua mean Reserve Bank. The word Aotearoa
was originally used by the Maori when referring to the North Island of
New Zealand. However this word is now commonly used when referring New
Zealand as a whole nation in Maori language. This is not the first time
that the RBNZ used Maori words on it's banknotes. Previous issues also
have Maori words imprinted on the notes, such as "Hoiho" ($5 yellow-eyed
penguin) and "Whio" ($10 blue ducks). As you can see from the scans,
the transparent window for these notes are also larger than previous
issues, and it also contains more features rather than just the
denomination value. These are the only two notes released in 2015. Come
next year, the RBNZ will release the remaining of the Brighter Monies
series with the denominations of $20, $50 and $100. I understand that
the new series of notes are not printed by NPA. You can tell that by
just looking at the font and size of the serial numbers printed. I
believe these are Canadian prints.

Central African States (Cameroon) - These are the three notes issued in 2015 (all dated 2002) that were
reported as Hybrid notes. However I am not convinced that they are. It
does not feel like it and it's not the same feeling as those issued by
Madagascar or other Hybrids notes known to me so far. The only way we
can confirm this is from the original security printing company, which I
doubt they would do that.

Tonga - This is a Tonga T$20 printed and issued recently. This is a reprint of the original 2009 issue. The signatures on the note are not the same as those already issued and I believe this is the only denomination bearing these signatures combination, as three other reprint notes of T$1, T$2 and T$5 all have difference signatures too. No reprints have been sighted for the remaining denominations for the 2009 issues yet, ie TS$10, T$50 and T$100. It is not sure if any of these have been issued too. Obviously we believe this T$20 note was printed and released between 2010 and 2014. Whether this note was released before or
after the death of previous King Taufa'ahau Topou IV, is not sure either. In all, we
have sighted 3 varieties of signatures since this series was first issued in
2009. This series has since been replaced by a new series (full set)
with the portrait of the new King in 2015, which I will be posting on my site early next year. Merry Christmas to all my friends and visitors.

Papua New Guinea - Papua New Guinea was granted independence by Australia on 16.09.1975.
This note was issued to celebrate the country's 40th Anniversary. This
is the fourth time that Papua New Guinea had released banknotes to
celebrate it's independence day. The first time was in 1995 with a
single 20 Kina note for the 20th Anniversary. In 2000, it released a
full set for the 25th Anniversary with 5 notes from 2 to 50 Kina and in
2010, another full set of 6 notes from 2 to 100 Kina to celebrate it's
35th Anniversary. For this year, only the 20 Kina was issued. Like all
previous Independence celebrations, the note used is the same as current
issue except that it has the Independence logo added to the design.

Singapore - Back in September this year, I posted a full set of the Singapore Commemorative notes ($50 x 1 and $10 x 5) celebrating the country's Independence Golden Jubilee 1965-2015. To commemorate this special occasion, the Central Bank, in partnership with Noel Gifts of Singapore, also issued the following numismatic products (SG50 Numismatic Currency Sets) in special folders; -
S1 - $50 single note with special prefix SG50 in blue (qty 50,000) @S$85 each;
S2 - $50 sheet of 3-in-1 Uncut (qty 5,000) @S$400 each;
S3a - $10 sheet of 3-in-1 Uncut variety A (qty 50) @S$200 each;
S3b - $10 sheet of 3-in-1 Uncut variety B (qty 50) @S$200 each;
S3c - $10 sheet of 3-in-1 Uncut variety C (qty 50) @S$200 each;
S3d - $10 sheet of 3-in-1 Uncut variety D (qty 50) @S$200 each;
S3e - $10 sheet of 3-in-1 Uncut variety E (qty 50) @S$200 each;
S5 - Full set with matching serial numbers (qty 5,000) @S$300 each;
S6 - $50 single note with $5 Silver proof coin (qty 1,000) @S$300 each;
S7 - $50 single note with $50 Gold proof coin (qty 150) @S$1,400 each; and
S8 - Platinum set banknotes with $2 CN, $5 Silver and $50 Gold coins (qty 100) @S$2,000 each.
Note: S4 (si-for) was not used for product listing for obvious reason. (local superstitious, meaning not auspicious)
The above folder issues were distributed by a company called Noel Gifts International Ltd. The sales were offered to the public on a pre-order basis from 18.08.2015 to 11.09.2015. All items were sold out with the exception of item no S1. As demands exceeded supply, items S2 to S8 were placed on a balloting process to determine the lucky winners. To me, this is a much fairer system as everyone has the same equal chance of getting what they wanted, rather than the first come first basis method they did in the 2007 $20 Commemorative notes set. Those who missed out on the 2007 $20 polymer commemorative notes set will know what I meant. In that serial, the entire 10,000 folder sets were sold out within 24 hours of opening to the public.
Whilst some of the items offered were very limited, especially the $10 3-Uncut sheets, it is not sure if more will be made available to collectors at a later date. I have a feeling that the above limited editions may only referred to the numismatic items in a folder issued in this content, perhaps with the exception of the $50 note (qty 50,000). Nothing was mentioned that these are the only uncut sheets ever printed available to collectors. Additional notes may be available by itself without the folder. In general, 50 sheets of 3-Uncut for the $10 note is very low especially for such an importance celebration. I am sure many local collectors would be very disappointed for not getting at least one piece. If you managed to get one at cost, then you are a very lucky person. Time will tell if we will see more of these at a later date. For the sake of the collectors, I hope we will.
Here I have posted the $50 single folder note. The design for this note is the same as those normal issue except that it has a special prefix of SG50 and the vertical serial numbers are printed in blue instead of brown colour. At the moment, the price for this issue is still very affordable if you can't get one directly from the distributor. At the time of my posting, this folder is still available for sale at Noel Gifts.

Singapore - Here is another numismatic product issued to commemorate Singapore Independence Golden Jubilee 1965-2015. A total of 5000 sheets were offered to the public at an issue price of S$300 per sheet/folder. This $50 3-Uncut sheet is also printed with the special prefix/serial number of SG50 in blue and gold/brown colours (normal notes printed with just gold/brown colour and not with SG50 prefix). Based on the total single notes issued ie S1 (50,000), S2 (15,000), S5 (5,000), S6 (1,000), S7 (150) and S8 (100), which give us a grand total of 71,250 individual notes. However, I have sighted a single note with serial number commencing 090000+. In view of this, one can arguably say that at least 100,000 pieces were printed, unless the serial numbers used for this series were not printed in sequential order from say #000001 to #071250. Here I have not included those rejected notes that may have errors or flaws during the manufacturing process as I do not have such information with me. It is also not known if any replacement prefix is used either, however, if these notes were printed by NPA, then one would not expect any. From the above, it is fair to say that only come to the conclusion that only 71,250 notes (including the 3 Uncut Sheets) were sold by Noel Gifts International Limited in various presentation folders. MAS may have retained certain quantity, either for their archive or to be sold, most likely via public auction, at a later date. Such notes would have low and fancy serial numbers printed on it, perhaps also including other uncut sheet varieties ie full sheet, half sheet, 8 uncut sheet etc. Your guess is as good as mine!

Poland - This 20 Zloty Commemorative note was issued on 24.08.2015 to celebrate the 600th birth of Jan Dlugosz (b.1.12.1415-19.05.1480). During his life time, Jan Dlugosz was a historian, medieval writer, geographer and diplomat. Quantity issued 30,000 sets at a price of 72 Zloty each. This note comes with a simple card folder. Unlike previous issue, this note is printed on paper not polymer. The issue price has also gone up too, as compared to previous 20 Zolty 2014 Commemorative note celebrating the Centenary of the formation of the Polish Legions. This note was sold for 60 Zloty each. I am not sure why this banknote was printed on paper material. Anyway, given that this is a commemorative issue at a premium of 40 Zloty, one would not expect to see this note to going into general circulation and for that, I would preferred a paper banknote than a polymer.

Slovenia - Here is a set of 3 Commemorative notes (P25, P26 & P27) issued in 2001 to celebrate the country's 10th Anniversary of it's Central Bank, Bank of Slovenia (Banka Slovenije). Slovenia was formerly one of the 6 States that made up the nation of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. Slovenia gained independence on 25.06.1991. The declaration of independence also let to a 10-Day War (aka Weekend War) fought between Slovenia and the Yugoslavia People's Army. This war also led to the beginning of the breaking up of Yugoslavia between other member States. Following independence, Slovenia established it's own Central Bank and commenced issuing it's own currency, called Tolar. On 01.05.2004, Slovenia joined the EU and in 2007 adopted the Eurosystem and replaced it's own currency with the Euro. The designs for these 3 notes posted here are the same as those issued earlier but with the following Commemorative text added to the watermark area of the notes - Banka Slovenije 1991-2001. This is a limited issue with the following quantities printed; 100 Tolarjev (dated 15.01.1992 - 10,000 pieces); 1000 Tolarjev (dated 15.01.2000 - 5,000 pieces) and 10,000 Tolarjev (15.01.2000 - 1,000 pieces). The signatures on all the notes are not the same. All notes posted here have matching last 3 digit serial numbers. This set also issued in a simple green folder presentation for collectors and is restricted to 1,000 sets only. In another word, to get the 10,000 Tolarjev note, one will have to get them in a set like this one posted here.

Papua New Guinea - This is a 10 Kina Commemorative polymer note that was issued in July 2015 to celebrate the country hosting the 15th Pacific Games in the capital city Port Moresby. The first games were held in Fiji in 1964 and it was then known as the South Pacific Games. In 1998, it changed its name to the Pacific Games. The games were held between 14-18 July 2015 and was attended by 24 nations. For the first time both Australia and New Zealand were allowed to participate in this tournament but restricted to only four sports, mainly Rugby Sevens, Sailing, Taekwondo and Weightlifting. The decision to allow both Australia and New Zealand to take part in these games was approved by the governing board, the Pacific Games Council in 2014. The reason that only four sports were allowed as the Pacific member States feel that they are strong enough in these events to complete with both Australia and New Zealand. A total of 28 sports were involved with the host nation winning the most metals. This is the third time that Papua New Guinea have staged these games. The first time was in 1969 and then in 1991. No commemorative notes were issued in 1969 as at that time the country was still under Australia rule and was also using Australian currency. However in 1991, it issued a two Kina to celebrate this special occasion. This Pacific Games is held every 4 years with the next tournament to be held in Tonga in 2019.

Singapore - This is the third of the 4 items that I won/bought for the Singapore SG50 Independence (50 Years of Nation-Building 1965-2015 series) commemorative series. This is a full set of the notes all with matching serial numbers of 002905. The $50 has the prefix of 50AA whilst the rest of the $10 are all printed with 5AA with 2-diamond symbol on the back. From what I understand all these are first prefix notes. I am also aware that there are $10 first prefix 5AA notes printed with only 1-diamond symbol. The $50 is the normal note and it has a star symbol printed on the back. In collection term, these are considered as varieties to the normal issues with one diamond symbol. Based on what we know, this Independence series comprises of 12 varieties - $50 with brown serial number, $50 with brown & blue serial number, $10 x 5 with one diamond symbol and $10 x 5 with 2-diamond symbol. This Identical Numbered set was sold by the central bank, Monetary Authority of Singapore, in partnership with Noel Gifts of Singapore as the distributor. Only 5,000 sets were put together for sale at a price of S$300 per set. As expected, the sales were oversubscribed and the allocation of buyers were then done via a balloting system. In general, 5,000 sets is still a lot in collectors term. This is one of the 11 items of the SG50 Numismatic Currency issued to celebrate the country's 50th year of independence. In my opinion, even the sale price was 3 times it's face value, it is still worth buying as it would be extremely hard to get all notes with matching numbers and not to mention that they are all first prefixes and all $10 printed are with 2-diamond symbol on the back. The last item that I have won was the $50 with a $5 Silver Proof coloured coin folder. However as I am not a coin collector, I decided not to have it and therefore won't be posting it here. Obviously this set is not with me but still in Singapore.

Guernsey - Guernsey £10 (ND2015) note bearing the signature of Bethan Haines. This is the fourth note issued with her signature on it. The first was the 2009 £20 note reprint, then followed by the 2012 commemorative note of £20 (QEll Diamond Jubilee) and in 2013 the £1 Commemorative (200th Anniversary of Thomas de la Rue commercial venture). The £1 and £10 notes were signed as States Treasurer whilst the rest as Chief Accountant. This is the second reprint note issued, not for commemorative purposes, bearing her signature for general circulation. The story goes that when Bethan Haines first got appointed to the Chief Accountant role, her mother was not too impressed with this until she was told that her daughter's signature will be appearing on all new Guernsey pound banknotes issued going forward. It is a great feeling to pay for all goods and services in cash with your daughter's signature on it. I believe the first prefix for this denomination is letter F and followed by the digit 6 (ie first note is F600001). In another word, the serial number of this note that I have uploaded is 00333. The 2012 £20 that I have also has the serial number of 00333, thus making these two notes as identical numbered notes.

Tonga - This is a 10 Pa'anga reprint from the 2009 series. I believe this note was issued in 2014 or even earlier. At this stage, I am not sure if the T$20, T$50 and T$100 were also printed. It would be interesting to find out, given that new designs and full set of banknotes were released end of July 2015.

Slovenia was formerly one of the 6 States that made up the nation of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. Slovenia gained independence on 25.06.1991. The declaration of independence also let to a 10-Day War (aka Weekend War) fought between Slovenia and the Yugoslavia People's Army. This war also led to the beginning of the breaking up of Yugoslavia between other member States. Following independence, Slovenia established it's own Central Bank and commenced issuing it's own currency, called Tolar. On 01.05.2004, Slovenia joined the EU and in 2007 adopted the Eurosystem and replaced it's own currency with the Euro. The designs for these 3 notes posted here are the same as those issued earlier but with the following Commemorative text added to the watermark area of the notes - Banka Slovenije 1991-2001. This is a limited issue with the following quantities printed; 100 Tolarjev (dated 15.01.1992 - 10,000 pieces); 1000 Tolarjev (dated 15.01.2000 - 5,000 pieces) and 10,000 Tolarjev (15.01.2000 - 1,000 pieces). The signatures on all the notes are not the same. All notes posted here have matching last 3 digit serial numbers. This set also issued in a simple green folder presentation for collectors and is restricted to 1,000 sets only. In another word, to get the 10,000 Tolarjev note, one will have to get them in a set like this one posted here.

Papua New Guinea - This is a 10 Kina Commemorative polymer note that was issued in July 2015 to celebrate the country hosting the 15th Pacific Games in the capital city Port Moresby. The first games were held in Fiji in 1964 and it was then known as the South Pacific Games. In 1998, it changed its name to the Pacific Games. The games were held between 14-18 July 2015 and was attended by 24 nations. For the first time both Australia and New Zealand were allowed to participate in this tournament but restricted to only four sports, mainly Rugby Sevens, Sailing, Taekwondo and Weightlifting. The decision to allow both Australia and New Zealand to take part in these games was approved by the governing board, the Pacific Games Council in 2014. The reason that only four sports were allowed as the Pacific member States feel that they are strong enough in these events to complete with both Australia and New Zealand. A total of 28 sports were involved with the host nation winning the most metals. This is the third time that Papua New Guinea have staged these games. The first time was in 1969 and then in 1991. No commemorative notes were issued in 1969 as at that time the country was still under Australia rule and was also using Australian currency. However in 1991, it issued a two Kina to celebrate this special occasion. This Pacific Games is held every 4 years with the next tournament to be held in Tonga in 2019.

Singapore - This is the third of the 4 items that I won/bought for the Singapore SG50 Independence (50 Years of Nation-Building 1965-2015 series) commemorative series. This is a full set of the notes all with matching serial numbers of 002905. The $50 has the prefix of 50AA whilst the rest of the $10 are all printed with 5AA with 2-diamond symbol on the back. From what I understand all these are first prefix notes. I am also aware that there are $10 first prefix 5AA notes printed with only 1-diamond symbol. The $50 is the normal note and it has a star symbol printed on the back. In collection term, these are considered as varieties to the normal issues with one diamond symbol. Based on what we know, this Independence series comprises of 12 varieties - $50 with brown serial number, $50 with brown & blue serial number, $10 x 5 with one diamond symbol and $10 x 5 with 2-diamond symbol. This Identical Numbered set was sold by the central bank, Monetary Authority of Singapore, in partnership with Noel Gifts of Singapore as the distributor. Only 5,000 sets were put together for sale at a price of S$300 per set. As expected, the sales were oversubscribed and the allocation of buyers were then done via a balloting system. In general, 5,000 sets is still a lot in collectors term. This is one of the 11 items of the SG50 Numismatic Currency issued to celebrate the country's 50th year of independence. In my opinion, even the sale price was 3 times it's face value, it is still worth buying as it would be extremely hard to get all notes with matching numbers and not to mention that they are all first prefixes and all $10 printed are with 2-diamond symbol on the back. The last item that I have won was the $50 with a $5 Silver Proof coloured coin folder. However as I am not a coin collector, I decided not to have it and therefore won't be posting it here. Obviously this set is not with me but still in Singapore.

Guernsey - Guernsey £10 (ND2015) note bearing the signature of Bethan Haines. This is the fourth note issued with her signature on it. The first was the 2009 £20 note reprint, then followed by the 2012 commemorative note of £20 (QEll Diamond Jubilee) and in 2013 the £1 Commemorative (200th Anniversary of Thomas de la Rue commercial venture). The £1 and £10 notes were signed as States Treasurer whilst the rest as Chief Accountant. This is the second reprint note issued, not for commemorative purposes, bearing her signature for general circulation. The story goes that when Bethan Haines first got appointed to the Chief Accountant role, her mother was not too impressed with this until she was told that her daughter's signature will be appearing on all new Guernsey pound banknotes issued going forward. It is a great feeling to pay for all goods and services in cash with your daughter's signature on it. I believe the first prefix for this denomination is letter F and followed by the digit 6 (ie first note is F600001). In another word, the serial number of this note that I have uploaded is 00333. The 2012 £20 that I have also has the serial number of 00333, thus making these two notes as identical numbered notes.

Tonga - This is a 10 Pa'anga reprint from the 2009 series. I believe this note was issued in 2014 or even earlier. At this stage, I am not sure if the T$20, T$50 and T$100 were also printed. It would be interesting to find out, given that new designs and full set of banknotes were released end of July 2015.

Maldives - This is a new Commemorative denomination of 5000 Rufiyaa released on the 26.07.2015, celebrating the country's 50th Year of Independence from the British. This note is also called the "Minivan" note, a Dhivehi/Maldivian word, meaning Independence. The printing and release of this new banknote was first announced by the security printing firm, De La Rue on 12.05.2015. This note is printed on Safeguard Polymer substrate by DLR. The design for this note was opened to the locals, and won by Abdullah Nashaath. The country Maldives is comprises of a chain of 26 atolls and is situated south of India. Maldives is the smallest Asian nation in both population (395,000+/-) and land area (298 km2). The country became a British protectorate on 16.12.1887 and was granted independence on 26.07.1965. In 1968 the country became a republic. Total quantity printed for this note is not cleared but only 3000 singles are released in a folder with an issue price of 7,500 Rufiyaa (US$490+/-) each. The note with serial number MF026765 (independence day) was presented to Mr Abdu Saththaar Moosa Didi who was involved in gaining independence from the British. The other note with serial number MF026715 (50th Anniversary) was presented to the country's President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom.

United Arab Emirates - This is the latest of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) 500 Dirhams Hybrid note printed with the year date of 2015. This note replaced the previous similar note issued dated 2011. The design of this new note is the same as the 2011 print but with minor changes such as new signature, six horizontal tactile lines added on both side of the edges to assist those with visually impaired. The vertical serial number on the left has also shifted away from the edge to accommodate those horizontal tactile lines. The colour of the omron rings aka champagne bubbles or donuts (whatever you want to call it) have also modified to made it more obvious to the naked eyes. To my viewers out there, do you know where UAE is without looking at the map? Do you know why there are no portraits of Emir or Ruler printed on any of their banknotes, like those in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman or Bahrain? I guest the best to describe UAE is by saying, it's where Dubai is. UAE is a Federation of seven Emirates/Sheikhdoms, which was established in December 1971, following gaining independence from Britain. Each Emirate is controlled by a Ruler/Emir. The 7 Emirates are Abu Dhabi (the largest), Ajman (the smallest), Fujairah, Sharjah, Dubai, Ras AL-Khaimah and Umm AL-Qaiwain. Prior to the forming of UAE, these Emirs were known as the Trucial States and they used Bahraini Dinar and before that, the Gulf (Indian) Rupees. The UAE Dirham currency was first introduced in 1973. The UAE Government positions for the President and Prime Minister are hereditary with the Emir of Abu Dhabi holds the President role and the Prime Minister post goes to the Emir of Dubai. The government is assisted by 40 members of the Federal National Council. Half of these members are appointed by the 7 Emirs and the other half are indirectly appointed for a term of two years. The capital of UAE is Abu Dhabi but all the major commercial actions are in Dubai, which is also the largest and most populous city in UAE. This is where you will find the world tallest building, fancy and expensive shopping malls, the Palms residents, the World Islands and many more expensive hotels etc.

Kazakhstan - 1000 Tenge 2013 Commemorative Note. This note was issued to commemorate the Kultegin, the moment of Turkic Runic Writing. This note was released to the public on 12.12.2013. The "Day of Turkic Runic Inscriptions" was celebrated for the first time in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan in 2014. The event was held on 19-20 May 2014, which took place at the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation. the event was attended by scholars, intellectuals, state officials as well as representatives of official institutions and organizations from Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey and the Russian Federation.

Lebanon - The Lebanese Army (Lebanese Armed Forces) Day is celebrated on the 1st of August each year. Whilst this note was issued to celebrate the 70th Anniversary (1945-2015), the Lebanese Armed Forces were well in existence before 1945. Prior to 1.8.2015, the Lebanese Armed Forces were under the control of foreign power (the French government) and was handed over to the Lebanese National government from 1.8.1945, and since then celebrating this day as their anniversary annually.

Bangladesh - A set of notes all printed with year date of 2011. The denominations posted here are 2, 5, 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1000 Taka. I am not sure if the 10 Taka was also issued for this year. The 50 Taka note was withdrew from circulation on the 7.3.2012 when an online news portal in Bangladesh identified a spelling mistake on the name of the artist of Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin (on the reverse of the note). This note was released together with the 10 and 20 Taka both dated 2012.

Thailand - I have added two notes here; 20 and 100 Baht. These are odd notes that I have. Unfortunately I do not have a full set with matching signatures. Collecting all Thai Baht is a nightmare. There are so many varieties, it would be hard to get them all, unless you are residing in the country. Good luck to you if you are concentrating in this area. I am happy if I can get just one full set for every series issued with same signatures.

Cambodia - Another Commemorative note issued to celebrate the country current King's 62nd Birthday. King Norodom Sihamoni was born on 14.5.1953 and this 10,000 Riels note was released on 15.5.2015. Unless this is Cambodian culture, it is unusual to commemorate a King's 62nd birthday. Like the countries of Thailand and The Philippines in South-east Asia, Cambodia seem to be introducing new notes with commemorative features. King Sihamoni is the eldest son of the late King Norodom Sihanouk. He was ascended to the Cambodian throne on 14.10.2004. Perhaps they should have issued a note last year to celebrate his 10th anniversary to the throne. A missed opportunity is our lost.

Transnistria - Here are the two commemorative notes of 1 and 10 Rubles, released on 28.04.2015 to celebrate the 70th Anniversary (Victory) of the end of the second world war 1939 - 1945. The design for these two notes are the same as previous issues but with commemorative logo printed on the watermark area on the right hand side of the notes. These two notes were issued with matching serial numbers. A total of 7,070 sets were released into circulation with 2,000 sets sold in folders commemorative. Transnistria is a disputed region in Moldova since the early 90s. Trans-Dniester Republican Bank is solely responsible for issuing currency in this disputed region. The Transnistrian Rubles are basically worthless outside it's own territory.

Bangladesh - This is a Commemorative note issued with overprint text on a 10 Taka value note (P32). This note was issued in 1996 celebrating the country's Victory Day Silver Jubilee. The celebration was referred to the country civil war fought between Bangladesh (then known as East Pakistan) and West Pakistan (now known as just Pakistan). Following the gaining of independence from the British on 14.08.1947, Pakistan was split into West and East Pakistan with India in between. Whilst Bangladesh fought a brief civil war with West Pakistan, Bangladesh achieved victory with the help of their neighbour, India, in 1971. The design for this commemorative was the same as previous issue (P26), except that the commemorative Bengali text (Victory Day Silver Jubilee '96) was added to the watermark area of the note.

Venezuela - A complete set of the 2008 reprints all dated 19.12.2008. Whilst this is a full set, the denomination of 10 Bolivares was not printed/issued for this series. The 10 Bolivares denomination was part of the currency reform first issued in 2007, and the first reprint was printed with the date of 03.09.2009.

North Korea - Here is the new North Korea Won series issued in 2014. This note is printed with a year date of 2013. The new series is printed without the portrait of the late President Kim Il-sung. Since the released of this new series, two varieties of this note have been issued with over prints as commemorative - 100th Birthday of the late President Kim Il-sung and the 70th Anniversary of the founding of the Workers Party of North Korea.

Thailand - This 100 Bahts note (ND2015) was issued to celebrate the Princes Maha Chakri Sirindhor's 5th Cycle birthday (60 years old, b. 2.4.1955). The princes is the second daughter and third child of King Bhumibol Adulyadej (King Rama lX) and Queen Sirikit Kitiyakon. To the Thais, she is commonly known as "Phra Thep", meaning Princes Angel.

Singapore - A complete set of Commemorative Polymer notes of five $10 (dated 2015) and one $50 (ND2015). Singapore, aka the little red dot, celebrates it's Independence Silver Jubilee on the 9th of August 2015. The release of these commemorative notes was first announced on 13.04.2015 and were released to the public on 20.08.2015 by 9 commercial banks throughout the island. Singapore became a self-governing State following the general election in 1959 when the Peoples' Action Party (PAP) won a landslide victory. On 16.9.1963, Singapore, Malaya, Sarawak and Sabah (North Borneo) joined together and formed a new country called Malaysia. However due to differences between Singapore and Malaya, Singapore was expelled from Malaysia and became an independence nation on 9.8.1965. Some would argued that Singapore deliberately acted and behaved in such a manner that it purposely wanted to get expel from the Malaysia union. The reason for joining Malaysia in the first place was a strategic move to get full independent from the British and from there by breaking away from Malaysia to become a fully independence nation. None of the Singapore PAP representatives attended the debate when they got expelled from Malaysia. This can only indicated their original intending when joining Malaysia in the first place. This is the second time in the history of Singapore that a design of banknotes featuring the image of the late former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew (b.16.9.1923-23.3.2015). The first time was also on the $50 note which was issued in 1990 to celebrate the country's 25th independence. This new $50 note (quantity 20 million pieces) is printed in gold colour which represents the country's Golden Jubilee celebration. This note is printed with a year date of 1965. The five $10 notes (total 75 million pieces) all have common front design of the portrait of the first President Yusof bin Ishak (b.12.8.2010-23.11.1970) but with varying themes on the back - "regardless of race, language or religion", "Opportunity for All", "Safe and Secure", "Strong Families" and "Caring Community, Active Citizenry". As all notes are printed with the portrait of Yusof bin Ishak, the design of the portraits between the $10 and $50 notes are not the same. The new notes are also issued in a folder with all six notes, a total of 2.8 million folders, at no extra cost. These folders are sponsored by the 9 commercial banks that distributed the new notes to the public. This is indeed a good move to ensure the citizens of this country to get these notes in full set at no extra cost.

European Union Ireland - Here are 3 Ireland Euro banknotes - €5, €10 and €20, all reprints from the original issues. The 5 Euro is dated 2002 but released in 2008. This note has the signature of Jean-Claude Trichet who was then the Central Bank Governor of EU between 2003 to 2012. The 10 Euro is also dated 2002 but released in 2012. The Irish Euros are all printed by the Central Bank of Ireland with the exception of the €200, which the bank does not print. Therefore to get a full set of the Irish Euro, one will have to discount the €200 denomination. I am happy to say that I only have a full set of the Irish Euro first issue of €5, €10, €20, €50, €100 and €500 notes. This note bears the Governor's signature of Mario Dragh. And the third one is the 20 Euro and I believe this was released in 2010. This note also bear the signature of Jean-Claude Trichet. These notes are long over due for posting here.

Bangladesh - This is a Commemorative note issued with overprint text on a 10 Taka value note (P32). This note was issued in 1996 celebrating the country's Victory Day Silver Jubilee. The celebration was referred to the country civil war fought between Bangladesh (then known as East Pakistan) and West Pakistan (now known as just Pakistan). Following the gaining of independence from the British on 14.08.1947, Pakistan was split into West and East Pakistan with India in between. Whilst Bangladesh fought a brief civil war with West Pakistan, Bangladesh achieved victory with the help of their neighbour, India, in 1971. The design for this commemorative was the same as previous issue (P26), except that the commemorative Bengali text (Victory Day Silver Jubilee '96) was added to the watermark area of the note.

Venezuela - A complete set of the 2008 reprints all dated 19.12.2008. Whilst this is a full set, the denomination of 10 Bolivares was not printed/issued for this series. The 10 Bolivares denomination was part of the currency reform first issued in 2007, and the first reprint was printed with the date of 03.09.2009.

North Korea - Here is the new North Korea Won series issued in 2014. This note is printed with a year date of 2013. The new series is printed without the portrait of the late President Kim Il-sung. Since the released of this new series, two varieties of this note have been issued with over prints as commemorative - 100th Birthday of the late President Kim Il-sung and the 70th Anniversary of the founding of the Workers Party of North Korea.

Thailand - This 100 Bahts note (ND2015) was issued to celebrate the Princes Maha Chakri Sirindhor's 5th Cycle birthday (60 years old, b. 2.4.1955). The princes is the second daughter and third child of King Bhumibol Adulyadej (King Rama lX) and Queen Sirikit Kitiyakon. To the Thais, she is commonly known as "Phra Thep", meaning Princes Angel.

Singapore - A complete set of Commemorative Polymer notes of five $10 (dated 2015) and one $50 (ND2015). Singapore, aka the little red dot, celebrates it's Independence Silver Jubilee on the 9th of August 2015. The release of these commemorative notes was first announced on 13.04.2015 and were released to the public on 20.08.2015 by 9 commercial banks throughout the island. Singapore became a self-governing State following the general election in 1959 when the Peoples' Action Party (PAP) won a landslide victory. On 16.9.1963, Singapore, Malaya, Sarawak and Sabah (North Borneo) joined together and formed a new country called Malaysia. However due to differences between Singapore and Malaya, Singapore was expelled from Malaysia and became an independence nation on 9.8.1965. Some would argued that Singapore deliberately acted and behaved in such a manner that it purposely wanted to get expel from the Malaysia union. The reason for joining Malaysia in the first place was a strategic move to get full independent from the British and from there by breaking away from Malaysia to become a fully independence nation. None of the Singapore PAP representatives attended the debate when they got expelled from Malaysia. This can only indicated their original intending when joining Malaysia in the first place. This is the second time in the history of Singapore that a design of banknotes featuring the image of the late former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew (b.16.9.1923-23.3.2015). The first time was also on the $50 note which was issued in 1990 to celebrate the country's 25th independence. This new $50 note (quantity 20 million pieces) is printed in gold colour which represents the country's Golden Jubilee celebration. This note is printed with a year date of 1965. The five $10 notes (total 75 million pieces) all have common front design of the portrait of the first President Yusof bin Ishak (b.12.8.2010-23.11.1970) but with varying themes on the back - "regardless of race, language or religion", "Opportunity for All", "Safe and Secure", "Strong Families" and "Caring Community, Active Citizenry". As all notes are printed with the portrait of Yusof bin Ishak, the design of the portraits between the $10 and $50 notes are not the same. The new notes are also issued in a folder with all six notes, a total of 2.8 million folders, at no extra cost. These folders are sponsored by the 9 commercial banks that distributed the new notes to the public. This is indeed a good move to ensure the citizens of this country to get these notes in full set at no extra cost.

European Union Ireland - Here are 3 Ireland Euro banknotes - €5, €10 and €20, all reprints from the original issues. The 5 Euro is dated 2002 but released in 2008. This note has the signature of Jean-Claude Trichet who was then the Central Bank Governor of EU between 2003 to 2012. The 10 Euro is also dated 2002 but released in 2012. The Irish Euros are all printed by the Central Bank of Ireland with the exception of the €200, which the bank does not print. Therefore to get a full set of the Irish Euro, one will have to discount the €200 denomination. I am happy to say that I only have a full set of the Irish Euro first issue of €5, €10, €20, €50, €100 and €500 notes. This note bears the Governor's signature of Mario Dragh. And the third one is the 20 Euro and I believe this was released in 2010. This note also bear the signature of Jean-Claude Trichet. These notes are long over due for posting here.

North Korea - 5000 Won dated 2013. This note was issued to commemorate the 70th Year (Septuagennial) of the founding of the Workers Party of North Korea (WPNK). The Workers Party of North Korea was established during the founding congress meeting held on 28-30 August 1946 with congress elected Kim Tu-bong as the party first Chairman and Kim Il-sung as his deputy. This note has 7 zeros serial number but does not have the usual Korean Specimen words printed on it. Is this note real or it's just a home made piece? Were there any circulating notes issued?

Argentina - Three odds notes from Argentina of 5, 50 and 100 Pesos all dated 2012. I am not sure if all denominations were released for this year. The ideal way of collecting would be having them in a full set for any given year, but unfortunately this is not always the case as not all notes are issued in any given year.

Indonesia - This is a collector item of 4-Uncut sheet of 100,000 Rupiah issued following the released of the new series of banknotes. The theme for this series remains the same as previous issues ie National Heroes. This is the first note for the series. This uncut sheet was issued in a folder and it also comes with a Certificate of Authentication, confirming the serial numbers of the notes and also stated that this is a legal tender note. A total of 5,000 sets were issued at a price of 1,060,000 Rupiah each. In addition to this, it also released a 2-Uncut sheet, at a price of 530,000 Rupiah per set. This is the only one I have. Due to the length of the sheet, I can't scan the image in full. This is the best my scanner can do for me.

Iraq - This is a complete set of 2003 Iraqi Dinars issued following the fall of the Saddam Hussein government on 9.4.2003. The set comprises of 7 notes with the new introduction of the 25,000 Dinars denomination. Whilst all notes have the year date of 2003, the 500 Dinars denomination has a difference signature from the rest of the notes. It is believed that this note was issued later. Since the released of these notes, no reprint for the 50 Dinars have been reported. This series has since been replaced by the 2013 series (introduced in September 2014).

Hong Kong HongKong and Shanghai banking Corporation Ltd - Here are the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC) $150 note of 3-Uncut sheet with AA and HK prefixes. I believe these are the only two prefixes issued for this variety as I have not seen one with AB prefix yet. The designs for this new note reflects the city's development over the years with street scenes from the 1950s and the changing cityscape of Hong Kong's world famous Victoria Harbour. The redevelopment of the bank's Head Office at 1 Queen's Road Central Hong Kong over the years. The note is printed with the watermark of a roaring lion "Stephen" on one side and the other lion "Stitt on the opposite side. Both Stephen and Stitt have been symbols of the bank for many generations in Hong Kong and many believed that by rubbing their paws of Stephen or Stitt would bring them good luck and good fortunes. These 3-Uncut sheets were sold for HK$1,380 each and due to overwhelming in demand, this issue was over subscribed by 21.6 times. These were first released to the public on the 9.6.2015. A total of 50 sets for these 3-Uncut sheets with special or nice serial numbers were also made available via a bidding process with starting bid of HK$13,000 each. I am not sure what so special about these, as the serial numbers offered were not that special or unique to me. There were no low serial numbers or solids offered. All serial numbers commenced with 8 and 9, with few repeat numbers (total 17) and one radar number. As the Uncut sheet is issued in a hard cover presentation folder, it also comes with a separate hard cover booklet detailing the note designs and a brief history of the bank in Hong Kong.

North Korea - 5000 Won dated 2013. This note was issued to celebrate the late President Kim Il-sung's 100th Birthday (b15.04.1912). President Kim birth name was Kim Song-ju and died 08.07.1994, aged 82. Not sure when this note was meant to be issued, but given that Kim was born in 1912, the Centennial celebration should be 2012. Sometime one has to ask this question. Is this a genuine note? Whilst we all aware that the North Korean Won are worthless, is this note really circulation in the country?

Solomon Islands - This is the latest of the Solomon Islands new family of notes. This new $100 note was launched/introduced into circulations on 10.04.2015 in Honiara by the Central Bank Government Denton Rarawa. This is the highest and the second denomination for the new series following the first release of the $50 in September 2013. This new $100 uses strong images and bold colours to reflect the vibrancy of the nation. The main theme of the design is rural lives, depicting particularly the harvesting of coconut as a major source of income in rural areas. Like the current $50 note, this note is also printed with Optiks technology (Hybrid) security, by De La Rue, the traditional printer for Solomon Islands banknotes since 1916. Optiks is DLR super-wide windowed thread. This highly-secure embedded thread is currently the largest window and widest thread in circulation. When the note is viewed normally the image in the metallic thread is visible, and when the note is held up against the light the full thread can be seen. And also like the 2013 first issue, the first prefix for this new series is "A/1" with replacement note printed with "X/1". Here I have posted the note with A/1 000088. Going forward, we will expect the remaining denominations to be issued later, however I am not sure if this new series will also include the $2 as well. In my opinion, it is unlikely that the remaining of the series will be printed with the Optiks technology (Hybrid) security. Let's hope that I am wrong on this.

Gambia - This is the first time in almost 20 years that the Central Bank of The Gambia has issued a new family of banknotes. On 2.3.2015, Gambia released a commemorative Polymer note of 20 Dalasis, commemorating the country 20 Years of Progress and Self-Reliance. Here, I have now posted the new series 2015 in full set. This series includes a new 20 Dalasis paper note replacing the previous 25 Dalasis denomination. Also for the first time, a new denomination of 200 Dalasis is also added to the series. The series of notes was launched on 26.02.2015 by the country President Yahya Jammeh at the State House. The redesigned banknotes bear the portrait of President Jammeh and are smaller in size than those previously issued.

Hong Kong - The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC)celebrating its 150th year in 2015 and released a legal tender banknote of $150 to mark this auspicious occasion. The bank first commenced trading in Hong Kong on 3 March 1865. The designs for this new note reflects the city's development over the years with street scenes from the 1950s and the changing cityscape of Victoria Harbour. Needless to say, this is a much better looking banknote than the 2009 Standard Chartered Bank $150 note (celebrating similar occasion). Two millions pieces were issued with 4 prefixes - HSBC, AA, AB and HK. The HSBC prefix note only comes with 4-digit number and it is believed that only 10,000 pieces bearing this prefix. The 2 million pieces comprises of 1.030 million single notes, 90,000 sets of 3-Uncut and 20,000 sets of 35-Uncut sheets. Issue price for the single notes were sold for HK$380; HK$1,380 for the 3-Uncut sheet and HK$23,880 for the 35-Uncut sheet. Special or unique serial numbers for all varieties were also available but these were sold via a bidding process with minimum starting bid; single note starting bid HK$8,888 (total 238 sets with prefixes of HSBC, AA and HK but no AB prefix); 3-Uncut sheets from HK$13,000 (total 50 sets - AA & HK prefixes) and 35-Uncut sheets from HK$68,888 (total 50 sets - AA & HK prefixes). As this is a commemorative note issued with a premium, it is unlikely that you will ever find any of the notes slipped into general circulation. This issue was only made available to Hong Kong residents and each applicant can apply up to 3 single notes plus one 3-Uncut and one 35-Uncut sheet ie a maximum of 5 sets. Application was opened between 5.3.2015 to 21.03.2015 with first delivery on 9.6.2015. This issue was well over subscribed by 4.4 times for the single note, 21.6 times for the 3-Uncut sheet and 64.8 times for the 35-Uncut sheet. Due to such an overwhelming demand, a ballot was held for final allocations to the lucky winners with the results announced on 14.04.2015. At the time of this posting, not all notes have been distributed/collectors by successful buyers yet. The next schedule dates for the collection are on 11-12 July 2015 and 17-18 July 2015. Net proceeds from this issue will be donated to charities such as the The HongKong Bank Foundation, The Community Chest of Hong Kong and other organisations. In today's Hong Kong, HSBC's banknotes have the highest circulations in the territory accounting for more than half the banknotes, followed by Bank of China and Standard Chartered Bank. In terms of assets, HSBC is ranked the second largest bank in the world, only behind the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC). Footnote: Despite some dealers/sellers claiming that the AB prefix is the replacement note, I do not believe this is correct. Traditionally, HSBC has ZZ as replacement note. However no such prefix has been reported or sighted so far. If there was any replacement prefix for this issue, it would have to be HSBC as only 10,000 pieces issued. Personally, I do not believe any replacement notes were printed but then this is just my opinion only. I believe this issue was printed by Hong Kong Note Printing Limited.

Trinidad and Tobago - These are the latest issue of notes all bearing the Governor's signature of Jwala Rambarran. These notes were first reported in November 2013. The notes posted here are the denominations of $1, $5, $10, $20 and $100. The $10 was the last note to release into circulation. Also given the recent released of the $50 polymer commemorative, I am also wondering if the bank has also printed this denomination in paper either. The $50 denomination was only reintroduced back into circulation as normal, commemorative and polymer issues recently. This denomination was taken out of circulation in the 70s when a shipment of notes were stolen while on its way to Trinidad and Tobago. The designs for these notes are the same as previous issues signed by the previous Bank Governor Ewart S Williams except with some minor changes. The most noticeable changes are the horizontal bars and the numerical/denomination values are added to the top left and right corners on each notes. All notes are printed with "Series 2006" year date.

Malaysia - Here I have added two replacement notes for the 10 (ZD) and 20 Ringgit (ZC) to my collection. With the Muslim holy month of Ramadan celebrating on the 17.07.2015, many new notes would have been released in Malaysia to meet the demand. Happy Ramadan to all Muslim collectors out there.

Russia - A complete set of current Russian circulating notes. The notes posted here are the 10, 50, 100, 500, 1000 and 5000 Rubles. These are the 1997 series and as such all printed with the year date of 1997. However not all notes were issued in 1997. The first 3 notes (10, 50 and 100 Rubles) were all issued in 2004 while the rest were issued in 2010. Like few other countries, mostly in the eastern Europe, Far East and South East Asia, banknotes issued in Russia are still without any signatures printed on the notes.

Tonga - Here are three reprints of the 2009 series of 1, 2 and 5 Pa'anga. The designs are still the same, except that it has new signatures. The design on the reverse of the One Pa' anga note is my favourite. It is not sure if the rest of the series were also issued with these signatures.

This issue was well over subscribed by 4.4 times for the single note, 21.6 times for the 3-Uncut sheet and 64.8 times for the 35-Uncut sheet. Due to such an overwhelming demand, a ballot was held for final allocations to the lucky winners with the results announced on 14.04.2015. At the time of this posting, not all notes have been distributed/collectors by successful buyers yet. The next schedule dates for the collection are on 11-12 July 2015 and 17-18 July 2015. Net proceeds from this issue will be donated to charities such as the The HongKong Bank Foundation, The Community Chest of Hong Kong and other organisations. In today's Hong Kong, HSBC's banknotes have the highest circulations in the territory accounting for more than half the banknotes, followed by Bank of China and Standard Chartered Bank. In terms of assets, HSBC is ranked the second largest bank in the world, only behind the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC). Footnote: Despite some dealers/sellers claiming that the AB prefix is the replacement note, I do not believe this is correct. Traditionally, HSBC has ZZ as replacement note. However no such prefix has been reported or sighted so far. If there was any replacement prefix for this issue, it would have to be HSBC as only 10,000 pieces issued. Personally, I do not believe any replacement notes were printed but then this is just my opinion only. I believe this issue was printed by Hong Kong Note Printing Limited.

Trinidad and Tobago - These are the latest issue of notes all bearing the Governor's signature of Jwala Rambarran. These notes were first reported in November 2013. The notes posted here are the denominations of $1, $5, $10, $20 and $100. The $10 was the last note to release into circulation. Also given the recent released of the $50 polymer commemorative, I am also wondering if the bank has also printed this denomination in paper either. The $50 denomination was only reintroduced back into circulation as normal, commemorative and polymer issues recently. This denomination was taken out of circulation in the 70s when a shipment of notes were stolen while on its way to Trinidad and Tobago. The designs for these notes are the same as previous issues signed by the previous Bank Governor Ewart S Williams except with some minor changes. The most noticeable changes are the horizontal bars and the numerical/denomination values are added to the top left and right corners on each notes. All notes are printed with "Series 2006" year date.

Malaysia - Here I have added two replacement notes for the 10 (ZD) and 20 Ringgit (ZC) to my collection. With the Muslim holy month of Ramadan celebrating on the 17.07.2015, many new notes would have been released in Malaysia to meet the demand. Happy Ramadan to all Muslim collectors out there.

Russia - A complete set of current Russian circulating notes. The notes posted here are the 10, 50, 100, 500, 1000 and 5000 Rubles. These are the 1997 series and as such all printed with the year date of 1997. However not all notes were issued in 1997. The first 3 notes (10, 50 and 100 Rubles) were all issued in 2004 while the rest were issued in 2010. Like few other countries, mostly in the eastern Europe, Far East and South East Asia, banknotes issued in Russia are still without any signatures printed on the notes.

Transnistria - Trans-Dniestr or Transdniestria or whatever name or spelling you want to use. Transnistria, a strip of land, is a breakaway state that is located between Moldova on the left and Ukraine on the right. Following the breakup of the Soviet Union empire, Transnistria declared independence in 1990 and then fought a brief war with Moldova in 1992 as it did not want to be part of Moldova. These 4 notes of 1, 5, 10 and 25 Rubles (full set) were released in 2014, celebrating the nation's 20th Year of National Currency, the Transnistrian Ruble. These commemorative notes were issued in separate folders and is limited to 2020 sets only. The designs for these notes are the same as current issues but with commemorative text (1994-2014) overprint added. Here, the four notes that I have posted are all have matching serial numbers. The folders are printed on a A4 size and it's folded into 3 equal parts. There are no plastic sleeve to hold the note on each folder, but instead on the center of the folder there are have two U shape cuts to allow the note to be "clipped" onto, if you want to. I personally suggest that you do not do that as in the long run, the notes may get damaged with an indented marks on the notes (both top and bottom edges). I am not sure what language the folder is printed with (Russian or Cyrillic/Moldovan alphabet) but there are no English to translate them. The official languages in Transnistria are Russian, Romanian and Ukrainian. Other than to a collector, the Transnistrian Rubles has little or no negotiation value outside it's territory. Transnistria is not a member of the United Nations and is not recognised by any of the United Nations member state.

Paraguay - This is a commemorative note, issued to celebrate the country's Central Bank's 50th Anniversary - Banco Central del Paraguay. The bank was created by law on 25.03.1952. This note was issued in 2002 to celebrate it's golden Jubilee. The design of this note is the same as previous issued, except that commemorative texts were added to the note just under the currency value of 1000 - "Cincuentenario del Banco Central del Paraguay" (50th Anniversary of the Central Bank of Paraguay). This note was released to the public as normal circulating type. This is a cheap note and it's making it interesting to collect them. I hope you have one too.

Philippines - This commemorative note was issued to celebrate 100th Year of the Church of Christ (Iglesia ni Cristo). The Church was founded on 27.7.1914 (registered) by Felix y Manalo. The Church of Christ is located in Quezon City in the Philippines. The Church also runs a private institution of higher education, called New Era University and it is also located in Quezon City. Gambia - This is a full set of notes which was issued in 2013. This set comprises of 5 notes with denominations of 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 Dalasis. The designs for these notes have been in circulation since 1996. In 2015, the country released new series of banknotes which included two new denominations of 20 and 200 Dalasis. The 20 Dalasis is a new denomination replacing the 25 Dalasis and a new 200 Dalasis value. In addition to these, it also issued a new 20 Dalasis Polymer note celebrating the country's 20th year of Progress and Self-Reliance.

Scotland Clydesdale Bank plc - This is a new £5 Commemorative Polymer note, issued to celebrate the 125th Year of the Forth Bridge in Scotland. The Forth (Rail) bridge was built in 1890 by Sir William Arrol (1839-1913), a Scottish Civil Engineer, under his company name of Sir William Arrol & Co, based in Glasgow. Allan Stewart was the resident engineer for this project. The bridge took 8 years to build and cost 73 lives, at a cost of approx. £3.2 million. The bridge, spans 2,528.7 meters long, connects the cities between Edinburgh and Fife and was opened on 4.3.1890 by the Prince of Wales, the late King Edward Vll. It should be noted that this Forth bridge is a railway bridge and was built solely for trains only, with daily traffic between 190-200 trains passing through the bridge. One must not confuse this bridge with the Forth Road Bridge (Suspension bridge built in 1964) which is a more modern bridge used by motor vehicles. In addition to the notes, the bank also released a booklet/wallet type detailing the history of this Forth bridge. The Forth Bridge is a Scottish landmark, and had been featured in classic movie (Alfred Hitchcock 1935 movie - The 39 Steps), advertisements, the 2000 Millennium countdown and even in video games. This is the first polymer note issued in Great Britain. A total of 2.0 million pieces issued. The size of this new polymer note (125mm x 65mm) is also smaller than the current paper £5 (135mm x 70mm) in circulation. However this is not the first polymer note issued in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (aka United Kingdom or Britain). In 1999, the then Northern Bank Ltd (now trading as Danske Bank) issued a £5 polymer note to celebrate the year 2000 Millennium. The Clydesdale Bank is a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Australia Banking Group (NAB Group) which has their Global Head Office in Melbourne Australia. Coincidentally right up to 2004, the Northern Bank in Northern Ireland was also owned by the NAB Group before it was sold. The 2007 Bank of Scotland Bridge series notes also feature the Forth bridge on the reverse side of the £20 note. This Clydesdale Bank polymer note was released on 23.03.2015.

Nigeria - This 100 Naira Commemorative note was released on 19.12.2014. The note was purposely printed to celebrate the country's 100th year of amalgamation between the north and the south which formed the country Nigeria. The note is printed with the commemorative text of "Centenary 1914 - 2014". This is also the first note in the world that has been printed with the Quick Recognition (QR) Code. An interesting point about this note is that if you look carefully on the design, this note has no Arabic wring printed at all, unlike those previously issued. However the value is printed in three difference local languages. Are these the languages of the Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo tribes? English is still the official language used in the country. Nigeria is the most populous nation in Africa with population in excess of 174+ million. The country is basically divided into two with the Muslims majority in the north and the Christians majority in the south.

These are reprints of the 2010 dated notes which were first released between 2010 and 2012. Banknotes issued by HSBC has the highest circulations in the territory, then followed by SCB and BoC.

Thailand - I have added four notes to my previous posting. These notes added are the new series issued since 2011. The notes added are the 20, 50, 100 and 500 Bahts all with new portrait of the Thai King. The only denomination missing is the 1000 Bahts which I believe is not released yet. Since 2011, two signatures varieties have been issued for the 100 Baht denomination.

Venezuela - 2007 series first reprints. Here is a complete set of the Bolivares notes issued with date printed as 24 Mayo (May) 2007. In this series the 10 Bolivares denomination was not issued. These were the reprint of the first issue dated 20 March 2007. The series depicts famous Venezuelans on the front and wild animals on the back.

Indonesia - This is the first of the re modified series of Indonesia Rupiah that was released on the 17.08.2014. The Central Bank intends to issue these notes in stages and the 100,000 Rupiah was the first to release. The design of this note is more or less the same as the previous issues except with minor changes to some security features, colour and wordings printed on the note. The most noticeable changes are the new wordings added, Negara Kesatuan (One Nation or United Country). The words Bank Indonesia on the front has been replaced by Republik Indonesia and all font sizes have been reduced too on both front and back. The letters of (H.C.) are also added to the portraits of Soekarno and Hatta. Other changes are the title of signatures, year issue etc.

Malawi - In 2004, the Reserve Bank of Malawi released a 50 Kwacha commemorative note celebrating the country's 40 Years of Independence 1964-2004. Fast forward 10 years, and in 2014, the Reserve Bank issued another commemorative note. This time is a 1000 Kwacha value, celebrating the country's Golden Jubilee of Independence 1964-2014. Independence day is celebrated on 6th of June. The official name of this country is the Republic of Malawi. Prior to gaining independence, the country was known as Nyasaland between 1907 to 1964. The designs for this note is the same as the current 1000 Kwacha in circulation except that it has the following text printed on the lower right corner of the note - "50 Years of Independence". The Independence date of 6th July 2014 is also imprinted on the note. This note depicts the portrait of the late Dr Hastings Kamuzu Banda (b.1898-1997), who ruled the country from 1964 to 1993. He was first appointed as the Prime Minister following gaining independent from the British. In 1966 he became the country's first President and later in 1970 as President for Life under a one-party rule system. In 1993 a referendum was called ended his one-party state system. He then ran for the President post under a democratic systems in 1994 and lost. He died in South Africa in 1997.

Cape Verde - This is the first and only polymer note issued by Cape Verde following the announcement of the new family series of banknotes. This polymer note was issued on 23.12.2014. The design of this note depicts the portrait of Henrique Teixeira de Sousa (b. 19.9.2019 - 3.3.2006). Dr Henrique Teixeira de Sousa was a medical trained doctor and also an author. Apart from these, he was also a Mayor of Mindelo on the island of São Vicente in Cape Verde, in the 1960s.

Argentina - 50 Pesos 2014 invasion of Guerra de las Malvinas Commemorative. The Argentinians called it Islas Malvinas and others called it Falkland Islands. For this post, I will refer the islands here with both names. This is a 50 Pesos note issued to commemorate the 32nd Anniversary of the invasion of the Islas Malvinas in 1982 by the Argentina Military Junta government let by Leopoldo Fortunato Galtieri Castelli (b. 1926-2003). Here are some interest facts of this conflict between Argentina and Great Britain.
* 02.04.1982 - Argentinian forces launched an invasion of Islas Malvinas, including South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands, following a long standing territorial claim;
* 05.04.1982 - The then British PM Margaret Thatcher (b.1925-2013) dispatched both naval and air task forces to the south Atlantic in preparation to recapture the islands back from Argentina;
* 25.04.1982 - The British forces recaptured South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands;
* 21.05.1982 - About 3,000 British troops landed on San Carlos in East Falkland;
* 14.06.1982 - The Argentinian troops surrendered and the British troops recaptured Falkland Islands.
The Argentinians managed to hang onto the islands for only 74 days before surrendering. A total of 908 lives were lost in this conflict, comprises of 255 British, 650 Argentinians and three Falkland Islanders. Since then the Islands sovereignty remain unresolved. In March 2013, a referendum was held in Falkland Islands to decide their future. The results was that 1,517 voted to stay with Great Britain with three voted against this. The Argentinian government has not given up on Islas Malvinas claim and is still hoping that one day it will return back to them. Given the result of the referendum, it is most likely that this matter will remain unresolved for a long, long time to come. The announcement of this new note was launched on 2.4.2014 by the Argentinian President Cristina Fernandes de Kirchner at her Presidential office at La Casa Rosada (the Pink House) in Buenos Aires. This note was released in early March 2015
The design of the note depicts gaucho Antonio Rivero (Entre Rios 1808-Buenos Aires 1845) riding on a horse waving the Argentinian flag in his right hand. The note is also printed with the following texts - en union y libertad. Primer defensor de la soberania nacional en las Islas Malvinas. Recupero la soberania patria en el ano 1833. Lucho por los derechos sociales de los trabajadores en las Islas. (at union and freedom. defender of national sovereignty on the Falkland Islands. Country regained sovereignty in the year 1833. I fight for social rights of workers on the islands). On the front, it has the islands of "Islas Malvinas", South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands printed over what seems to be the southern tip of Argentina and Chile. The map of the South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands is printed in the wrong way round with the top end pointing north instead of north-west. I am not sure why they did that? Is this on purpose or just trying to fit the map onto the note or I may have mistaken this myself.

As these are numismatic products, it is only money can buy as there are no shortage in supply, especially when the release of these uncut sheets are strictly control to ensure a certain premium is achieved.

Gambia - A new 20 Dalasis celebrating the country's 20 Years of Progress and Self-Reliance. In short, it's celebrating the country's 20 years of Presidential rule under Yahya Abdul-Azziz Jemus Junkung Jammeh, and so does his portrait on the note. President Yahya Jammeh, was a young army officer when he took over the country on 22.07.1994 following a military coup. He was then elected as President in 1996, and then re elected in 2001, 2006 and 2011. The note was launched by the President on 26.02.2015 and released into circulation on the 2.3.2015. The new note is printed by De La Rue on Safeguard polymer material. The design of this note is based on the current 25 Dalasis paper denomination, except that the portrait of a man on the last paper note has been replaced with the portrait of President Yahya Jammeh. This note replaced the current 25 Dalasis paper banknote which is still legal tender and will be withdrawn over time. The new polymer note is also printed predominately in green colour and was released on 2.3.2015. This is the first polymer note issued by Gambia. This note bears the signature of the bank governor, Mr Amadou Colley

Singapore - More updates posted here. Here I have added more notes issued with the chief's signatures of Goh Chok Tong and Tharma Shanmugaratnan. These notes are the $10 with star symbol signed by Goh CT, and the rest are for T Shanmugaratnan with tiny symbols of diamond, triangle and shape of a house (both bold and hollow).

Guatemala - I have posted two more notes here for the 1 and 5 Quetzales. These are repeat polymer notes from the previous issues. The 1 Quetzal was first issued printed with the date of 20.12.2006. It then issued the second note dated 2008, then 2011, 2012. There are two issues for the 2012 reprints. The first issue with the date of 02.05.2012 and the second is dated 17.10.2012. Both the 2012 issues have minor modification to the designs. In the transparent window, it added the portrait of General Jose Maria Orellana Pinto. Here I have added the November 2012 note. The 5 Quetzales was first issued in 2010. The is the first reprint dated 11.05.2011.

Chile - More updates posted. Two notes from the polymer series of 1000 and 5000 pesos with year dates printed with 2011 and 2012 for the 1000 Pesos and 2012 for the 5000 Pesos. I have a feeling that I am not up to date yet on these notes.

Malawi - In 2004, the Reserve Bank of Malawi released a 50 Kwacha commemorative note celebrating the country's 40 Years of Independence 1964-2004. Fast forward 10 years, and in 2014, the Reserve Bank issued another commemorative note. This time is a 1000 Kwacha value, celebrating the country's Golden Jubilee of Independence 1964-2014. Independence day is celebrated on 6th of June. The official name of this country is the Republic of Malawi. Prior to gaining independence, the country was known as Nyasaland between 1907 to 1964. The designs for this note is the same as the current 1000 Kwacha in circulation except that it has the following text printed on the lower right corner of the note - "50 Years of Independence". The Independence date of 6th July 2014 is also imprinted on the note. This note depicts the portrait of the late Dr Hastings Kamuzu Banda (b.1898-1997), who ruled the country from 1964 to 1993. He was first appointed as the Prime Minister following gaining independent from the British. In 1966 he became the country's first President and later in 1970 as President for Life under a one-party rule system. In 1993 a referendum was called ended his one-party state system. He then ran for the President post under a democratic systems in 1994 and lost. He died in South Africa in 1997.

Cape Verde - This is the first and only polymer note issued by Cape Verde following the announcement of the new family series of banknotes. This polymer note was issued on 23.12.2014. The design of this note depicts the portrait of Henrique Teixeira de Sousa (b. 19.9.2019 - 3.3.2006). Dr Henrique Teixeira de Sousa was a medical trained doctor and also an author. Apart from these, he was also a Mayor of Mindelo on the island of São Vicente in Cape Verde, in the 1960s.

Argentina - 50 Pesos 2014 invasion of Guerra de las Malvinas Commemorative. The Argentinians called it Islas Malvinas and others called it Falkland Islands. For this post, I will refer the islands here with both names. This is a 50 Pesos note issued to commemorate the 32nd Anniversary of the invasion of the Islas Malvinas in 1982 by the Argentina Military Junta government let by Leopoldo Fortunato Galtieri Castelli (b. 1926-2003). Here are some interest facts of this conflict between Argentina and Great Britain.
* 02.04.1982 - Argentinian forces launched an invasion of Islas Malvinas, including South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands, following a long standing territorial claim;
* 05.04.1982 - The then British PM Margaret Thatcher (b.1925-2013) dispatched both naval and air task forces to the south Atlantic in preparation to recapture the islands back from Argentina;
* 25.04.1982 - The British forces recaptured South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands;
* 21.05.1982 - About 3,000 British troops landed on San Carlos in East Falkland;
* 14.06.1982 - The Argentinian troops surrendered and the British troops recaptured Falkland Islands.
The Argentinians managed to hang onto the islands for only 74 days before surrendering. Northern Ireland Ulster Bank Limited - £10 and £20 notes both printed with the date of 1.1.2014. These are the only two notes issued with this date sighted so far. With all four major banks issuing banknotes in Northern Ireland, it is not surprised that not all denominations are printed on an annual basis by any of the four major banks. The last £10 and £20 issued by the Ulster Bank were both dated 3.1.2012. This £20 note was released in early 2014. However I am not sure about the £10 note. The design for these notes changed little since the 60s, despite the ownership of the bank changed hands few times since then. Apart from Northern Ireland, only Scotland, Hong Kong and Macau where local banknotes are still issued by commercial banks. The signature on these notes are signed by the bank's Chief Executive, Jim Brown.

Saint Helena - With the recent released of the 2012 reprints of £10 and £20, so does the specimen notes too. Here are the two specimen notes for the £10 and £20 printed with new date of 2012 and new signatures released in 2014. Saint Helena is a British Overseas Territory located remotely in the South Atlantic Ocean. The currency of Saint Helena is at parity with the British pound sterling. Saint Helena was once the home of Napoleon Bonaparte (b. 1769-1821) from 1815 to until his death in 1821. He was exiled by the British government to this island following the defeat of the French at the Battle of Waterloo. Bonaparte died on the island on 5.5.1821, aged 51 (his remains were returned to France in 1840 and entombed in a crypt under the dome of Les Invaildes in Paris). These reprint notes are all signed by the members of the Currency Board of Saint Helena. The board comprises of four members (Commissioners). The facsimile signatures on these notes are Andrew Wells, Paul Blessington, Anthony Kilner and Gillian Francis. The Currency Board was established in 1976 and the role of the Commissioners are to meet on a regular basis to discuss proposals relating to the issue of all new bank notes, circulation and commemorative coins. The specimen quantity issued is not known but based on last issues, it would expected to be around 300 pieces, after all there is only one commercial bank in Saint Helena and also there are no major changes to the designs of these notes too. Therefore it is unlikely that more than 300 pieces were printed, in my opinion.

Like the 500 Ariary, this note was first reported in late 2014, but I am not sure when these were actually released as there is no change in designs on the notes. Venezuela - 100 Bolivares 1980 Commemorative. 150th Anniversary of the death of Simon Bolivar. Simón José Antonio de la Santísima Trinidad Bolívar y Palacios Ponte y Blanco (1783-1830) was a military and political leader. During his life time, he was involved in the independence of many northern South American nations from the Spanish Empire. Today he is considered as one of the most influential politicians in the history of the South America. He died at the relative young age of 47 from tuberculosis.

Indonesia - A full set of the 2014 issue. The design of these notes will be re modified slightly with new name/wordings added and title etc and will be released on stages with the first note (100,000 Rupiah) already released on 17.08.2014. This current series was first introduced in the year 2000 (1000 Rupiah), and then followed by the 5000 Rupiah in 2001. The 2000 Rupiah was then added (new denomination) in 2009 and the 1000 Rupiah was discontinued in 2010. In addition to this, I have also updated the 10000 Rupiah 2007 issues and also the 1000, 5000 and 50000 Rupiah for the 2009 issues

Kyrgyzstan - 100 and 200 Som 2014 Commemorative.
*100 Som - This is a commemorative note released on the 20.10.2014 commemorating the 150th anniversary of the outstanding Kyrgyz bard, composer and komuzista, Toktogul Satylganov. The note for this commemorative issue is the same as the 2009 note issues but with an overprint of a goldish profile of Toktogul Satylganov with a commemorative inscription of "ТоктогулгA 150 ЖЬІЛ" (printed on the white background of the watermark area. The serial number for this issue commenced with TC150 and then followed by a 4 digit number from 0001 to 3000. Only 3000 folders issued and this note is legal tender in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.
*200 Som - This is a 200 Som commemorative note issued on 20.10.2014 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the famous Kyrgyz poet, playwright and translator Alykul Osmonova. The note for this commemorative issued is the same as the 100 Som note printed in 2010 but with added logo/text of a golden peotic plume on the white watermark area with the inscription of "Aльікул Осмоновго 100 жЬіл" (Alykul Osmonov - 100 years). The serial number for this note commenced with "AO" prefix and only 3000 folders are issued with numbers ranging from 0000001 to 0003000. This note is legal tender in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Zambia - This commemorative note of 50 Kwacha was issued to celebrate the country's central bank, the Bank of Zambia, Golden Jubilee Anniversary (50th year). The bank was established on 24 October 1964. Whilst this note is all about the central bank celebration, the design is more like honoring the country's Heads of State (past and present) since gaining independence in 1964 with the portraits of Dr Kenneth David Kaunda (1964-1991), Dr Frederick Jacob Titus Chiluba (1991-2002), Levy Patrick Mwanawasa (2002-2008), Rupiah Bwezani Banda (2008-2011) and Michael Chilufya Sata (2011-2014). In addition to this commemorative banknote, the bank also issued a bimetallic coin with a face value of K50, bearing the portrait of the Michael Chilufya Sata. Michael Sata passed away on the 28.10.2014 and has since been replaced by Edgar Lungu as President of Zambia on 25.01.2015.

Trinidad and Tobago - This is the first polymer note issued by the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago. This note was released on the 13.12.2014 celebrating the Golden Jubilee (1964-2014) of the country central bank, the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago. The bank was established by an Act of Parliament on the 12.12.1964. An interesting story about the $50 denomination of this tiny nation. The $50 (together with the $100) was first introduced on 6 June 1977. A shipment of the $50 was then stolen in transit to Trinidad and Tobago. This forced the government to suspense the circulation of $50 banknotes and not until 2012, it was then reintroduced by the former Bank Governor Ewart S Williams with the released of a new $50 to celebrate the country's 50th Year of Independence. A circulating version of the note was also released but without the commemorative text of the $50 commemorative note. This new polymer note bears the Governor's signature of Jwala Rambarran.

Iraq - This is a complete set of Iraqi Dinars issued in September 2014. These notes are all dated 2013/AH1434. In terms of the designs, there are similar to the 2003 issues with the exception of the two high denomination notes of 10000 and 25000 Dinars. The design of the 10000 Dinars had been replaced by a monument. Previous note has the portrait of Ali Hasan ibn al-Haitham (Physicist and Mathematician) and the Kurdish woman holding sheaf of wheat replaced by a young woman holding a jug on her shoulder for the 25000 Dinars. The designs on the reverse for these two notes are the same as previous notes. This new set comprises of 6 notes with denominations from 250, 500, 1000, 5000, 10000 and 25000 Dinars. The 25000 Dinars was first introduced in 2003 and it is still the largest denomination circulating in the country. Obviously, the 50 Dinars is no longer printed for this series. This note was part of the 2003 series. The two notes, being the 10000 and 25000 Dinars are both printed in Hybrid material which come with a small transparent window. These two notes are also considered as large size notes measuring 175mm x 78mm and 170mm x 78mm respectively.

Great Britain - This is a numismatic joint ventured commemorative issue, released by the Bank of England and the Royal Mint with a five pounds note and a five pounds crown coin. This commemorative issue was released in 1998 to celebrate the 50th Birthday of the Prince of Wales Prince Charles with the banknotes printed with a special cypher of PW50 for this special occasion. The design of the banknote was the same as those circulating £5 notes (P382b) at that time except that it has a special cypher of PW50. This cypher PW50 will not be produced for general circulation. The coin issued together with this note is a five pound crown are in UNC/BU condition. A total sets of 1000 were issued for this commemorative. These kind of numismatic releases were very similar to those issued by Note Printing Australia back in the 90s too.

Australia - Posted here is a $20 paper banknote uncut sheet of two. This was issued at the Numismatic Association of Australia's International Coin and Banknote Fair in Melbourne back in 1993 (17-18 July). Two varieties were issued. One with Red Serial Number and the other with Golden Serial Number. Issue price was $85 and $95 respectively. These notes are all printed with unique serial numbers as all paper notes printed since 1996 are all with three letters prefix. Today is also Australia's 49th anniversary of converting it's currency from the Australian Pound Sterling to the decimal currency, Dollar and Cent. It is interesting if we get to see a commemorative note for next year golden jubilee celebration. Prior to converting to the decimal currency, many names for the new currency were suggested, including the Royal, the Austral, the Oz, the Boomer, the Roo, the Kanga, the Emu, the Digger, the Quid, the Dinkum and the Ming (the nickname of the then Prime Minister, Sir Robert Menzies). Just image if they have picked one of these names, especially the Ming! Obviously apart from Australia, the Aussie dollars are also used in Christmas Island, Cocos & Keeling Islands, Norfolk Island and the pacific islands of Kiribati, Nauru and Tuvalu.

Zambia - This commemorative note of 50 Kwacha was issued to celebrate the country's central bank, the Bank of Zambia, Golden Jubilee Anniversary (50th year). The bank was established on 24 October 1964. Whilst this note is all about the central bank celebration, the design is more like honoring the country's Heads of State (past and present) since gaining independence in 1964 with the portraits of Dr Kenneth David Kaunda (1964-1991), Dr Frederick Jacob Titus Chiluba (1991-2002), Levy Patrick Mwanawasa (2002-2008), Rupiah Bwezani Banda (2008-2011) and Michael Chilufya Sata (2011-2014). In addition to this commemorative banknote, the bank also issued a bimetallic coin with a face value of K50, bearing the portrait of the Michael Chilufya Sata. Michael Sata passed away on the 28.10.2014 and has since been replaced by Edgar Lungu as President of Zambia on 25.01.2015.

Trinidad and Tobago - This is the first polymer note issued by the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago. This note was released on the 13.12.2014 celebrating the Golden Jubilee (1964-2014) of the country central bank, the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago. The bank was established by an Act of Parliament on the 12.12.1964. An interesting story about the $50 denomination of this tiny nation. The $50 (together with the $100) was first introduced on 6 June 1977. A shipment of the $50 was then stolen in transit to Trinidad and Tobago. This forced the government to suspense the circulation of $50 banknotes and not until 2012, it was then reintroduced by the former Bank Governor Ewart S Williams with the released of a new $50 to celebrate the country's 50th Year of Independence. A circulating version of the note was also released but without the commemorative text of the $50 commemorative note. This new polymer note bears the Governor's signature of Jwala Rambarran.

Iraq - This is a complete set of Iraqi Dinars issued in September 2014. These notes are all dated 2013/AH1434. In terms of the designs, there are similar to the 2003 issues with the exception of the two high denomination notes of 10000 and 25000 Dinars. The design of the 10000 Dinars had been replaced by a monument. Previous note has the portrait of Ali Hasan ibn al-Haitham (Physicist and Mathematician) and the Kurdish woman holding sheaf of wheat replaced by a young woman holding a jug on her shoulder for the 25000 Dinars. returned to their home town by now to have a reunion meals celebration
with their elders/parents. To all those who celebrate this Spring
Festival, a very Happy and Prosperous New Year to you all. This is a Ten Patacas 2015 Year of the
Goat commemorative Banknote. Both the Bank of China and Banco Nacional
Ultramarino commenced issuing Chinese Zodiac banknotes since 2012,
with the first issue for the Year of the Dragon. Unlike all previous Chinese
Zodiac notes issued, this note was released much earlier, on 6.10.2014, together with
the Year of the Horse 10 Patacas notes. This is the forth issue note in the 12
Animals cycle series. The design of this note is very similar to those issued by Bank of China except the company's brand name,
it's head office building and the signatures. It is said that people who
were born in the year of the Goat will received financial help or
inherit money from unlikely sources. Well, if you are one, your days
will come, hopefully soon! Here are some famous people who were born in the Year of the
Goat - Barbara Walters, King George IV, Rudolph Valentino, Sir
Laurence Oliver (1907), Billie Jean King (1943), Pierre Trudeau (1919) and the
late Shah of Iran (1919). Goat years - 1907, 1919, 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003 and 2015.

Cambodia - 50000 Riels. The is a commemorative note released on 6.5.2014 to commemorate the 61th
Birthday of the King His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni. The new banknote has
a portrait of late King Father Norodom Sihanouk on
the front and on the back depict the pictures of Bakong temple which is
located in Siem Reap
province and baby elephant dropping it trunk down on the right. This
note is dated 2013.

Nigeria - Polymer 20 and 50 Naira. Here I have added the two notes to my previous postings. Both notes added are all dated 2011. Nothing special about these except that it has a difference year date from the rest of my collection.
