Scotland Clydesdale Bank plc - £5 (P218b) and £20 (P221a) both signed by Frank Cicutto. These are the only two notes signed by Frank Cicutto when he was then the CEO of Clydesdale Bank (a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Australia Bank Group). After his posting at the Clydesdale Bank, he returned to National Australia Bank Ltd in Australia and rose to the position of the CEO in 1999. After 37 years of service with the bank, on 2.2.2004 he resigned from his CEO post and left the bank. I have these notes for few years now, just waiting in the queue to be uploaded onto my blog. I believe, unfortunately, that these two notes that I have posted here are not in UNC condition. The £5 note seem to be in aUNC at best and the £20 is EF+ condition. It is a pity that they are not in UNC condition.

Venezuela - This is a full set of Bolivar Fuerte (strong bolivar) first released on the 1.1.2008. All notes are printed with the date of 30.03.2007. These notes replaced the original Bolivar at a rate of 1 Bolivar Fuerte (new) for 1000 Bolivares (old). The new notes were issued as a currency reform to counter high inflation in the country. The Venezuela government since 2003 has strict control on its currency exchange rates involving both imports and exports as well as amount of cash one can take out of the country. This set of notes is getting a bit expensive, especially the 50 Bolivar Fuerte. Other denominations are still very affordable and plenty to offer by many dealers.

Pakistan - Five Rupees 1997 independence
commemorative. It appears that this is the only Pakistan banknote ever
issued as a commemorative note. This is a 1997 dated note issued to
celebrate the country Golden Jubilee Independence. The note is printed
with the years 1947-1997 commemorative year date. Pakistan was once part
of India, ruled by the British Empire until it obtained independence on
14.08.1947. The country was then divided into West Pakistan and East
Pakistan with India in between. On 16.12.1971, after a brief civil war
(about 9 months) East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) successfully broke away
from West Pakistan rules with the support of India and became an
independence nation. This commemorative note depicts the portrait of
Mohammed Ali Jinnah (b 25.12.1876 - 11.09.1948) who was the country
first Governor General following independence. Mohammed Ali Jinnah was a
British trained lawyer, politician and of course the father of the
nation. His birthday is observed as a national holiday in Pakistan.

Bhutan - Posted here are 3 Bhutanese notes all issued in 2000. These notes are 10, 50 and 100 Ngultrum (P22, 24 and 25 respectively). I have these notes quite a while now. These notes are quite ordinary and as such not expensive.

Solomon Islands - 2009 to 2011 issues signed by DH Rarawa & S Fanega. As the country has commenced releasing new series of banknotes since late 2013, these are the current and will be the last series of notes to be replaced eventually. Here, I have posted all notes except the $50 piece as I am not sure if this was printed. As I do not have the information, any readers out there can please let me know if any was printed as I am keen to get one to complete this collection. I enjoy collecting them in full set rather than odd ones, unless the high end value note is too expensive.

Indonesia - Here are some updates of notes printed for 2002, 2003 and 2005 issues.
These notes, 10000, 20000 and 50000 Rupiah, were printed for the
previous series, but were issued together with the current issues with
other denominations. I have posted these here together with the current
series to group them all according to the year of issued. By grouping them
this way is easier for me to post them here. These notes are larger in
size and I personally find these designs are much better looking than
the current one.

Israel - 50 New Sheqalim (P58) commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the formation of the State of Israel. The State of Israel was founded on 14.05.1948. The declaration of the State of Israel was proclaimed by David Ben-Guion (1886-1973), whom he also later served as the first Prime Minister of the newly found nation. The note used for this commemorative is the same as those previous 1985 issued except that the serial number is in 5 digits and is printed vertically on the front close to the left hand side edge, whilst previous issues have the serial numbers printed on the reverse side of the note.

Malaysia - This is a 5 Ringgit 1995 error note in circulated condition. The print on the back of the note has been missed aligned to the left. The denomination of $5 on the back should be printed on the right hand side and not as shown on the scan. This note was printed by Canadian Banknotes Company (CBNC). Of all the 5 Ringgit printed by various printers for this series, this 5 Ringgit was printed very badly, especially the portrait of the late King.

Indonesia - More Indonesia updates posted here. The notes added here are the 2008, 2011 and 2013 prints.
*1) 2008 - two notes added here. These are the 5000 (2001/2008) and 100000 Rupiah (2004/2008) reprints. These two notes complete my 2008 set;
*2) 2011 - 50,000 Rupiah 2005/2011 reprint. To me, this is by far the most elusive note of the Indonesia 2011 prints. I have been looking for this piece to complete my 2011 collection for a while and here is it now. I have now added to my previous post. This is not a rare note but many collectors (outside Indonesia) would not be aware that the 50,000 Rupiah 2011 print comes in two varieties. In addition to these, three notes, 20000, 50000 and 100000 rupiah were also printed with the year date of 2011. The design of these three notes are slightly difference from those issued earlier. These 3 notes were all printed with double symbols such as Rectangles (20000 Rupiah), Triangles (50000 Rupiah) and Circles (100000 Rupiah) on the left hand side of the notes, whilst the one that I have uploaded today has none of these symbols. Additional omron rings (or champagne bubles) were also been added to these 3 notes, including minor changes to the background (design/colour) on the front on each of these notes. Despite this 50000 Rupiah note is not rare, not many dealers are selling them, or perhaps they too were not aware of the two varieties existed. This note now complete my 2011 reprints collection;
*3) 2013 - 100000 Rupiah 2004/2013. Previous posting comprises of a full set. This is a variety of the 2013 reprint with a difference signature. I am just wondering if other denominations were printed too as the signatures for the 2013 prints are not all the same.

Malaysia - This is the last for year 2014. This is an update on my previous posting of One Ringgit 2012 fourth
series. This is the latest One Ringgit replacement Polymer note known to collectors with
ZD replacement prefix. Generally speaking, these low value replacement are quite affordable as many of these were issued by the bundle,
however the replacement note with ZB prefix commands a very high
premium at the moment. I am not sure what the quantity were printed but
judging by the high price asking, it must be not that many. Many of
these also went into normal circulation.In general, replacement notes would command a high premium if it was an insert replacement. Most polymer replacement notes are issued by the bundles, as having them inserted individually to the normal notes can be time consuming and may not be cost effective too.

Lebanon - 2012 complete full set from 1,000 to 100,000 Livres (Lebanese Pound LBP). The notes are all printed with the years date of 2012 in Arabic. The design of these notes were first introduced in 2011. The set that I have posted are all reprints. The design of these notes are very similar to those previously issued but with very minor alterations on the colours. Lebanon (Beirut) was once known as the financial center of the Arab world until civil war broke out in 1975. Sadly to say, even today, the country is still very much a divided nation. Lebanon has a small population of just under 5.0m people.

Macau Bank of China - This is the long awaited issue 2014 Year of the Horse commemorative note. This note was supposed to release in early 2014 but was delay until recently. This note was made only available to both residents and non permanent residents of Macau via online registration. The registration was first announced on 4.6.2014 with each person can register only once for up to 30 pieces of banknotes from each issuing bank (Bank of China and Banco Nacional Ultramarino), with distribution commenced from 6.10.2014 to 31.12.2014. To avoid the same mistake happening again, both banks also released the Year of the Snake notes 10 Patacas simultaneously. It is believed that 20 millions pieces have been printed by each bank. This is the third note of the 12-Banknote series. Some famous persons born in the Year of the Horse - Neil Armstrong (1930), Rembrandt (1606), Theodore Roosevelt (1858), F D Roosevelt (1882), Barbra Streisand (1942), Paul MaCartney (1942), Chris Evert (1954) and Anwar Sadat (1918).

Samoa - This is a 50 Tala Hybrid Commemorative specimen note issued in 2012 celebrating the country's 50th anniversary of Independence from New Zealand in 1962. The official name of Samoa is the Independence State of Samoa (Malo Sa'oloto Tuto'atasi o Sāmoa). The German ruled Samoa (then known as Western Samoa) from 1900 to 1914. Following the out break of world war 1 in 1914, New Zealand took over the administration from the German and ruled between 1914 to 1962 until it's independence. In 1997, the country changed it's name from Western Samoa to just Samoa. This note has the specimen control number of 001, or the first note of the specimen series. It is interesting to note that apart from changing it's name, the country had two other major changes - 1) driving systems - from the right side (US system) to the left side (Australia style) in 2009, and; 2) in 2011, the nation skipped Friday and moved from 29.12.2011 (Thursday) to 31.12.2011 (Saturday). This changed means that the country from being the last to see the sun set to the first to see the sun rise. The purpose of this was to bring the nation closer to it's main trading partners, such as Australia and New Zealand. Obviously those who were born on 30th December didn't get to celebrate their birthdays that year. Well, it's only one year out of your entire life, much better than those who were born in a leap year, right?

Samoa - Here is a set of the 2012 reprints specimen notes. This series was first introduced in 2008 with 5 notes, denominations from 5 to 100 Tala. In 2012, a reprints with new signatures were released but without the 10 and 50 Tala values. At the time of the release, a 50 Tala commemorative was also issued to celebrate the country's Golden Jubilee 50th Year of Independence from the Kiwis. The reprint for the 50 Tala normal note was finally issued recently (2014), but still no 10 Tala 2012 yet. Here is a set of the specimen notes but without the 10 Tala denomination. The 50 and 100 Tala are still Hybrid notes. This is the first set of the reprint specimen series with the tiny control number of #001. The numbers are printed in red on the lower left hand corner. It's quite hard to see, but you should be able to spot that especially on the 20 Tala denomination. It is believe that only 500 pieces of specimen notes printed.

Kuwait - A complete set of new Kuwaiti notes released on 29.6.2014. These new notes are all printed on cotton based paper material with denominations issued remain unchanged, from quarter to twenty dinars. The Kuwaiti dinars are still the strongest currency in the world, much stronger than the Bahrain dinar and the Oman rial. This full set of Kuwaiti has a face value of approximately US$130+/-. Whilst many central banks around the world ceased issuing lower denomination of notes due to inflation, the Central Bank of Kuwait continues to issue the quarter and half dinar values. There are not many banknotes nowadays printed in fractional value. The other country which still does that is Bahrain with the half dinar note (2007 issue).

Malaysia - This is a 5 Ringgit specimen (contoh) note officially issued with a control number of 070. This note was printed by Thomas de la Rue and this is the third print of the series since it was first released in 1986. Previous two prints were slightly difference from the above note mainly due to slight alteration to the design (flag pole) and security features. From the scans you will notice that this a circulated piece but still in great condition. More importantly it has no folds or creases on the note.

Malaysia - Here I have uploaded two more Malaysian notes - 2012 series. The notes are RM20 (P54r) and RM100 (P55r). Both notes are replacement notes with prefix ZB (RM20) and ZD (RM100). The ZD RM100 is the latest known replacement note. The RM20 ZD note has been out for a while now.

Falkland Islands - Here I have added the new 2011 £20 to my previous £10 note posting, both printed with the date of 1.1.2011. These new notes were ordered in August 2010, of which 200,000 pieces of each denomination were printed by De La Rue Currency, traditionally the security printing firm for the Government of Falkland Islands bank notes. The total costs for the reprints was £157,776 (£0.39p per note) plus delivery charges etc. Two other printing firms were also considered at the time of the re ordering due to high cost quoted by DLR, but have decided to stay with DLR. Falkland Islands has a rather small population and for that reason, these 2011 notes printed are expected to last at least 15 years or more. The designs (Front: QELL, King Penguins, Sea Lions, Map of Falkland Islands; Reverse: Governor House, Christchurch Cathedral) of the notes are similar to previous issues but with added security features, such as the cornerstone(TM) and "F" watermark. These designs were first used in 1983. These notes bear the facsimile signatures of the Currency Commissioners of Falkland Islands - Keith Padgett, Moira C Eccles and L M Lyse. Previous £10 and £20 were signed by the sole Currency Commissioner Harold Rowlands. The £5 note was not included in this reprint as at the time of the re order, the Treasury has sufficient stock for this denomination to last for local demands for another 10 years or more and so does the £50 notes too. The series of these two notes commenced with prefix letter "B" with serial numbering ranging from B 000001 to B 200000. The Falkland Islands Pound is pegged to the British Pound Sterling and also can be used on the islands too.

Saint Helena - These are two reprints of the 2004 issues of £10 and £20. The designs are the same and these new notes are printed with a new date of 2012 and with new signatures too. The serial numbers for the £10 note commenced from P/1 400001 and A/1 150001 for the £20 note. It is believes that these two notes were released recently in 2014. Judging by the serial numbers of the last two previous issues, it looks like 100,000 pieces were printed for the £10 and 50,000 pieces for the £20 denomination. Saint Helena is a British Overseas Territory and has a very small population of less than 5,000, and any notes printed for a given series/year will tend to last for a very long time, and as such it is not surprised that it took so long for reprints/new notes to be reordered and issued. It is also believed that no notes of any denomination has ever been printed/issued with more than one letter/digit prefix, or even printed in full of a maximum of 1.0 million pieces on a single issue. The Saint Helena pound is also used in the Ascension Island, population 880+/-. The Ascension Island is located approximately 700 miles (1126.50 Kilometers) northeast of Saint Helena. The facsimile signatures on the notes are:- Andrew Wells, Paul Blessington, Anthony Kilner and Gillian Francis. Until the new commercial airport is completed and opened in 2016, Saint Helena is still one of the most remote islands in the world. The locals are known as the Saints.

Croatia - 20 Kuna 2014 Commemorative. This is a commemorative issue to celebrate the country's 20th anniversary of issuing Croatian currency (Kuna) by the central bank, Hrvatska Narodna Banka (Croatian National Bank). The bank was established in December 1990 following the break up of Yugoslavia. The bank initial adopted the Dinar currency between 1990 to 1993. In 1994, it changed the currency from Dinar to Kuna and issued it''s first Kuna on 30.05.1994. The Kuna, in Croatian meaning Marten, is subdivided into 100 Lipa (meaning lime tree). This is a folder issued which also include the 10 Kuna commemorative issued in 2004 celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Kuna currency. The design of this commemorative note is almost the same as the current 20 Kuna in circulation except that it has the the denomination value of 20 added to the watermark area on the left hand side of the note, just like the previous 10 Kuna 2004 commemorative issue. This note was issued on 30.05.2014, in a folder commemorative format of 2 notes as well as in singles circulating notes.

Australia - Posted here are two $10 vertical Polymer uncut pair with date of (ND)1997. The uncut sheets were issued in both Premium (Red) and Deluxe (Blue) serial numbers. The initial issue prices were $95 for the Premium set and $65 for the Deluxe set with quantities of 1,000 and 1,600 folders respectively. In addition to these, block of 4 were also released for both sets. These notes bear the facsimile signatures of Ian Macfarlane and Ted Evans.

Scotland, The Royal Bank of Scotland - This is the latest £10 note dated 2010 issued with the signature of the bank's CEO Steven Hester. As Steven Hester is no longer the bank's Group Chief Executive, it is not sure if this is the last note bears his signature or if there are still more to come. To date, Steven Hester's signature has appeared on the £5 (2008 & 2010), £10 (2012 Commemorative, and this note) and £20 (2010 & 2012). We have not sighted if the £50 or even the £100 have been printed with his signature on it. I suppose only the bank staff or the printer can answer that, unless any visitors here have inside information. Steven Hester has since been replaced by Ross Maxwell McEwan, who is originally from New Zealand.

Samoa - Here, I have added the latest Samoa 50 Tala of 2012 issue to my previous post. In 2012, a reprint of all denominations were released with new signatures of Faumuina Tiatia Faaolatane Liuga and Maiava Atalina Ainuu-Enari. At the time of the release, the 50 Tala was issued as a commemorative note with the overprint logo celebrating the country 50th year of Independence. The value of 10 Tala note reprint was not included in this release. This new 50 Tala posted here does not have the commemorative text/logo on the note. The main design remains the same as previous issue but with minor chances to the bottom edges on both side of the note and it's remains a Hybrid note, just like the 100 Tala denomination. Uruguay - Posted here is a full set of "A" series notes (9 pieces) printed with year date between 1989 to 1992 from 1,000 to 500,000 Neuvos Pesos. This set was issued in a presentation folder which also included 3 unissued notes of 1,000, 5,000 and 10,000 Neuvos Pesos. These 3 notes are all printed with two large words in red "NO EMITIDO" on the front, which means unissued in Spanish. These are hyper inflation notes and it was later replaced in 1994 following the country's currency reform by removing 3 zeros from the currency value ie 1,000 Neuvos Pesos = 1 Peso Uruguayo. Almost all independence nations in the South America had gone through an economy and currency crises at least once during the 80s and 90s due to hyper inflation and forced to adopt a major currency reform to fix the economy. The 500,000 Neuvos Pesos was the largest currency ever issued in the history of Uruguay.

Nicaragua - A fifty Cordobas banknote with A/1 prefix. The note is printed with the main violet colour. It has the design of the National Ceramic of Nicaragua on the front and the Canyon of Somoto on the back. The note has the watermark of National ceramic of Nicaragua, "50" watermark and this note was issued on 3.12.2009.

Saint Helena is a British Overseas Territory and has a very small population of less than 5,000, and any notes printed for a given series/year will tend to last for a very long time, and as such it is not surprised that it took so long for reprints/new notes to be reordered and issued. It is also believed that no notes of any denomination has ever been printed/issued with more than one letter/digit prefix, or even printed in full of a maximum of 1.0 million pieces on a single issue. The Saint Helena pound is also used in the Ascension Island, population 880+/-. The Ascension Island is located approximately 700 miles (1126.50 Kilometers) northeast of Saint Helena. The facsimile signatures on the notes are:- Andrew Wells, Paul Blessington, Anthony Kilner and Gillian Francis. Until the new commercial airport is completed and opened in 2016, Saint Helena is still one of the most remote islands in the world. The locals are known as the Saints.

Croatia - 20 Kuna 2014 Commemorative. This is a commemorative issue to celebrate the country's 20th anniversary of issuing Croatian currency (Kuna) by the central bank, Hrvatska Narodna Banka (Croatian National Bank). The bank was established in December 1990 following the break up of Yugoslavia. The bank initial adopted the Dinar currency between 1990 to 1993. In 1994, it changed the currency from Dinar to Kuna and issued it''s first Kuna on 30.05.1994. The Kuna, in Croatian meaning Marten, is subdivided into 100 Lipa (meaning lime tree). This is a folder issued which also include the 10 Kuna commemorative issued in 2004 celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Kuna currency. The design of this commemorative note is almost the same as the current 20 Kuna in circulation except that it has the the denomination value of 20 added to the watermark area on the left hand side of the note, just like the previous 10 Kuna 2004 commemorative issue. This note was issued on 30.05.2014, in a folder commemorative format of 2 notes as well as in singles circulating notes.

Australia - Posted here are two $10 vertical Polymer uncut pair with date of (ND)1997. The uncut sheets were issued in both Premium (Red) and Deluxe (Blue) serial numbers. The initial issue prices were $95 for the Premium set and $65 for the Deluxe set with quantities of 1,000 and 1,600 folders respectively. In addition to these, block of 4 were also released for both sets. These notes bear the facsimile signatures of Ian Macfarlane and Ted Evans.

Scotland, The Royal Bank of Scotland - This is the latest £10 note dated 2010 issued with the signature of the bank's CEO Steven Hester. As Steven Hester is no longer the bank's Group Chief Executive, it is not sure if this is the last note bears his signature or if there are still more to come. To date, Steven Hester's signature has appeared on the £5 (2008 & 2010), £10 (2012 Commemorative, and this note) and £20 (2010 & 2012). We have not sighted if the £50 or even the £100 have been printed with his signature on it. I suppose only the bank staff or the printer can answer that, unless any visitors here have inside information. Steven Hester has since been replaced by Ross Maxwell McEwan, who is originally from New Zealand.

Samoa - Here, I have added the latest Samoa 50 Tala of 2012 issue to my previous post. In 2012, a reprint of all denominations were released with new signatures of Faumuina Tiatia Faaolatane Liuga and Maiava Atalina Ainuu-Enari. At the time of the release, the 50 Tala was issued as a commemorative note with the overprint logo celebrating the country 50th year of Independence. The value of 10 Tala note reprint was not included in this release. This new 50 Tala posted here does not have the commemorative text/logo on the note. The main design remains the same as previous issue but with minor chances to the bottom edges on both side of the note and it's remains a Hybrid note, just like the 100 Tala denomination. Uruguay - Posted here is a full set of "A" series notes (9 pieces) printed with year date between 1989 to 1992 from 1,000 to 500,000 Neuvos Pesos. This set was issued in a presentation folder which also included 3 unissued notes of 1,000, 5,000 and 10,000 Neuvos Pesos. These 3 notes are all printed with two large words in red "NO EMITIDO" on the front, which means unissued in Spanish. These are hyper inflation notes and it was later replaced in 1994 following the country's currency reform by removing 3 zeros from the currency value ie 1,000 Neuvos Pesos = 1 Peso Uruguayo. Almost all independence nations in the South America had gone through an economy and currency crises at least once during the 80s and 90s due to hyper inflation and forced to adopt a major currency reform to fix the economy. The 500,000 Neuvos Pesos was the largest currency ever issued in the history of Uruguay.

Nicaragua - A fifty Cordobas banknote with A/1 prefix. The note is printed with the main violet colour. It has the design of the National Ceramic of Nicaragua on the front and the Canyon of Somoto on the back. The note has the watermark of National ceramic of Nicaragua, "50" watermark and this note was issued on 3.12.2009.

Singapore - $2 Commemorative 1992. This is one of the rarer Singapore commemorative notes released in 1992 (3rd October) celebrating the tiny nation's 25th Anniversary of issuing it's own currency 1967 to 1992. The Board of Commissioners of Currency Singapore or BCCS (central bank) was established on 7.4.1967 following the breaking up of the monetary union between Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei. Prior to that, these three countries were using the common currency called the Malaya and British Borneo Dollar. Following the establishment of BCCS, the country issued it's first banknotes (Orchard series) in 1967. On 1.10.2002, BCCS merged with the Monetary of Authority of Singapore (MAS), which then took over the responsibility of the issuance of currency in the Republic. The design of this commemorative is the same as the $2 Ship series (1984-1998) but with overprint commemorative text added on the right side of the note. This note is also considered as an 'Error' note as it has a spelling error on the commemorative text. The word Commissioners" was spelled with the second "i" missing. Only 5,000 notes were issued at the official price of S$60.00 and was released together with a book called "Prudence at the Helm". Unfortunately I only got this note but not with the book and therefore I can't describe anything about the book. This note finally complete my collection of all commemorative notes (single note) of Singapore. Collecting older paper banknotes from a hot and humid environment, such as like in Singapore, is always a challenge as one has to avoid buying a note that may have foxing on the note, especially if they are not cheap. Given that this note was first issued in 1992, and if the note was not kept in a cool and dry environment, chances are you will find them with yellowish spots on the note by now. This note has been graded by a banknote professional firm with grading as EPQ 65 Gem Uncirculated. Personally, I do not pay much attending to any professional grading as I have two same notes both graded as same quality but I can tell one is better than the other. Why pay someone a fee when you can gauge the condition of the note yourself? And with Singapore celebrating 50th Anniversary of Independence next year, are we expecting to see a new note(s) for this special occasion too?

Vanuatu - New polymer notes set of Vt200, Vt1000 and Vt2000 (Vatu). These are the new series of notes, first issued in 2010. These 3 notes were released on 9.6.2014 by the bank's Governor Mr Simeon Malachi Athy. Mr Athy was appointed to his current role since 15.11.2013. He replaced Odo Tevi who was the bank's Governor from April 2003 to 27.4.2013 (two terms of 5-year). Mr Tevi has since been appointed as the country's Ambassador to the United Nations in New York. Whilst the current denomination of Vt10000 polymer note (released in 2010) was printed by NPA, these new notes are all printed by Oberthur Fiduciare of France. This is the first time a Vt2000 denomination is introduced. The remaining denominations of Vt500 and Vt5000 will be released in the next two to three years. The theme for the newly released notes are; Vt200 - strong family bond; Vt1000 - agriculture; and Vt2000 - flora and fauna. These releases have been long over due since the released of the first polymer note of Vt10000 back in 2010. The Vt10000 is still the largest denomination circulating in the country. The smallest of the new Vanuatu polymer banknotes series is the Vt200. The Vt100 paper note was replaced by a coin in 1988. It appears that the Vt100 banknote has only been printed once and that was in 1982 when the country first adopted it's own Vatu currency two years after independence (from the British and French). Prior to that, the currency circulating in the country was called New Hebrides Franc. The Vanuatu Vatu is issued as a single unit with no sub unit, unlike the Australian currency - Dollar and Cents. Interesting to note that the Australian dollar was once circulated in Vanuatu (New Hebrides) prior to 1982 and it was pegged at 100 Francs to one Australian dollar (at par?). The facsimile signature of the Minister of Finance on this note is Maki Stanley Simelum, who was appointed to the role on 10.05.2013.

Poland - Twenty Zloty commemorative note celebrating the Centenary of the Formation of the Polish Legions. The Polish Legions was created on 16.8.1914 during the Austro-Hungarian monarchy era. At the peak of their strength in 1915, the legions consists of more than 12,000 soldiers and officers and fought in the great war between the Austro-Russian front between 1914-1916. Although the Legions was disbanded in 1917, it remains in the hearts and souls of the Polish people and because of this, this note is issued to commemorate the 100th Year of the formation of the Polish Legions. The front of the note depicts the image of Marshal Jozef Pilsudski (1867-1935) and the back of the note with images of Grant Cross with Star of the Order of Virtuti Militari awarded to Marshal Josef Pilsudski, and also the badge of the First Brigade of the Polish Legions and the eagle badge of the Polish Legions. Marshal Josef Pilsudski was a Polish statesman, Chief of State 1918-1922, First Marshal (from 1920) and leader of the Polish Second Republic between 1926 to 1935. The design of the note also include a hologram depicting Belvedere Palace. This is the first Polymer note ever issued by Poland. This note is printed by the Polish Security Printings Works (PWPW) with 50,000 folders released to the public for sale on 5.8.2014. Issue price 60 Zloty.

New Zealand - 1996 $20 Commemorative. Queen Elizabeth the Second (Elizabeth Alexandra Mary) was born on 21st April 1926. She acceded to the throne of the United Kingdom following the death of her father, King Groege VI (Albert Frederick Arthur George 1895-1952) on 6.2.1952. In addition to the United Kingdom, she is also the constitutional monarch of 15 nations around the world, including Australia, Canada and New Zealand. The Queen is also the head of the Commonwealth of Nations.

Zimbabwe - Added here to my previous post are two Zimbabwe hyperinflation notes of $10000 (P46a) and 100000 (P48a). These two notes formed part of the bearer cheques of 30 notes issued between 2006 to 2008 with denominations from one cent to 100 Billion dollars. All notes are printed with the bearer cheque no of 02022909. These bearer cheque notes issued between 2007 to 2008 were only negotiable between three to 12 months from the date of issued. There are two versions for the $10000 and $100000 notes printed. The difference between these two prints was the numerical value of the notes. The first version was printed with a space in the numeral value ie 10 000, whilst the later prints have no space between the zeros (ie $10 000 vs $10000). Here I have uploaded the first print for both notes. These are the only two notes that come with 2 varieties for these two denominations. A complete set of Zimbabwe hyper inflation notes comprises of 68 notes issued from 2006 to 2009 with value from one cent to $100,000,000,000,000 (100 Trillion dollars). Happy hunting if you are looking for a full set.

Great Britian - Five Pounds Commemorative 1997. This is a numismatic commemorative issue, released by the Bank of England and the Royal Mint with a five pounds note and a five pounds coin. This commemorative issue was released in 1997 to celebrate the Queen Elizabeth the Second and Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh's 50th Wedding Anniversary. The five pounds note is printed with a special cypher of HM50 in honour of this special occasion and will not be produced for general circulation. The design of the banknote was the same as those circulating notes at that time except that it has a special cypher HM50. The coin issued together with this note is a five pounds crown are in UNC/BU condition. This coin is the fourth in a sequence of commemorative five-pound coins. A total of 5000 sets were issued for this special occasion.

Jamaica - Posted here are full set of notes printed and issued between 2007 to 2009, which also included the J$5,000 Hybrid denomination that I have previously uploaded in the Hybrid notes section. For more brief details on Hybrid notes can be found by clicking here. These notes uploaded here are all signed by the central bank Governor Derick Milton Latibeaudiere. Latibeaudiere was appointed to the Governor role on 1.4.1996. He resigned from his job on 30.10.2009 following a loan scandal.

North Korea - This commemorative set of notes were issued to celebrate 100th year of the birth of President Kim Il-sung. Kim Il-sung (15.4.1912 to 8.7.1994) ruled North Korea from 8.9.1948 until his dealth in 1994. His birth name was Kim Song-ju and in 1935 adopted the name of Kim Il-sung, meaning 'becoming the sun'. Kim Il-sung was the leader of North Korea since it was established in 1948 until his death. Between 1948 to 1972, he held the post of Prime Minister and from 1972 to 1994 as President of North Korea. Following his death, he was succeded by his son Kim Jong-il (b. 1941-2011). The senior Kim, according to officail records, was born in a small village in Mangyongdae (then called Namni). The reverse side of the 5000 Won shows the birth place of Kim.

Malaysia - Posted here is the RM50 with prefix ZD replacement note. This is my latest collection for this series. This is the forth series of the Malaysian banknotes, and was first released in early 2008 (circulating type) to commemorate the country's 50th independence. In 2009, a revised version of this note was issued, with the commemorate logo/text removed, was introduced. The replacement prefix for this series commenced with ZB.

Australia - 2013 full set. This is a full set reprints of all denominations from $5 to $100 (5 notes). All notes bear the facsimile signatures of Glenn Stevens (Governor) and Dr Martin Lee Parkinson (Secretary To The Treasury, appointed since 7.3.2011). It should be noted that this is the first time that these signatures combination are printed on the $20 and $100 denominations. This is also the first time a normal full set of notes were printed for a given year since 2008, and the forth full set since 1996.

Malaysia - One Ringgit Polymer. I have today added the RM1 polymer second reprint last prefix of EF to the post. The first print for this polymer series are with prefixes from AA to DD, The second print prefixes are from DF to EF. The prefix of DE was not used. There are minor differences on these two prints, mainly the denomination of One on the front and the horizontal bar on the bottom left corner. White lines are added to the designs.

Scotland - The Royal Bank of Scotland limited edition £5 Commemorative bank note. This is a new commemorative note of £5 issued celebrating the return of the Ryder Cup (Golf) competition to Scotland. The Ryder Cup is a prestigious biennial men’s golf competition held between teams from Europe and the United States. The competition was first started at Gleneagles Golf Club in Perthshire, Scotland in 1921. This year is the 40thedition of the Ryder Cup competition and it will also be held at Gleneagles in Scotland between 23-28 September 2014. This tournament also celebrates the return of the competition to "The Home of Golf" for the second time since its inception in 1921. The new note is dated 22.09.2014 but was released on 14.07.2014 to collectors. For the first time in Great Britain, this note is printed on a Hybrid paper material by the German company, Giesecke & Devrient (G&D). The design of the note also includes a see through window in the shape of the Ryder Cup. This note also bears the first signature of the bank's Chief Executive Officer Ross Maxwell McEwan (a Kiwi). CEO McEwan was appointed to the role on 1.10.2013, replacing previous CEO Stephen Hester (resigned December 2013). This commemorative bank note is not meant for general circulation and this note that I have posted was sold in a pack at a premium which also include a special Collector Folio with Certificate of Authenticity and a historical narrative. The note is sealed in a protective lens to preserve it's pristine condition for future generations. However ticket holders to the competition can also exchange the new note at face value. A total of 500,000 notes have been printed, however the quantity issued in packs will depends on the demand. It should be noted that this is the third time that RBS has released a commemorative note related to golf. The first two notes were the 2004 £5 commemorating The Royal Ancient Gold Club of St Andrew and 2005 £5 Jack Nicklaus last appearance at the British Opens. Despite the promotional launched by the bank for this commemorative note, this is not the first Hybrid note issued in Europe. In fact, this is forth Hybrid note ever issued in Europe, after Bulgaria (2005), Latvia (2007) and Gibraltar (2011). None of notes issued will be available for distribution at any of the RBS bank branches in Scotland. However if you are a golf enthusiastic and intend to attend the tournament at Gleneagles, then you can get these notes at face value there.

Bosnia-Herzegovina - One Maraka issued in 1989. The SCWPM has listed this note as P59a. This is a rather cheap note, and this is also the only Bosnia-Herzegovina banknote I have in my collection since the end of the Bosnia war in 1995. The war started in 1992, and it went on for 3 years, eight months, 1 week and 1 day.

Slovenia - A couple of odd notes here. 100 Talorjer 1992 (P31a) and 500 Talorjer 500 2005 (P16c). Both notes are in UNC condition. I always believe that getting a full set is more enjoyable, but in this case, I have no such luck yet.

Honduras - Twenty Lempiras 2008 Polymer. I have updated this issue by adding two other prefixes of BP and BQ. Whilst only three prefixes reported, this issue also comes with two signatures variety. Both the BP and BQ notes have the same signatures while 2 signatures on the BR note are new.

This commemorative issue was released in 1997 to celebrate the Queen Elizabeth the Second and Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh's 50th Wedding Anniversary. The five pounds note is printed with a special cypher of HM50 in honour of this special occasion and will not be produced for general circulation. The design of the banknote was the same as those circulating notes at that time except that it has a special cypher HM50. The coin issued together with this note is a five pounds crown are in UNC/BU condition. This coin is the fourth in a sequence of commemorative five-pound coins. A total of 5000 sets were issued for this special occasion.

Jamaica - Posted here are full set of notes printed and issued between 2007 to 2009, which also included the J$5,000 Hybrid denomination that I have previously uploaded in the Hybrid notes section. For more brief details on Hybrid notes can be found by clicking here. These notes uploaded here are all signed by the central bank Governor Derick Milton Latibeaudiere. Latibeaudiere was appointed to the Governor role on 1.4.1996. He resigned from his job on 30.10.2009 following a loan scandal.

North Korea - This commemorative set of notes were issued to celebrate 100th year of the birth of President Kim Il-sung. Kim Il-sung (15.4.1912 to 8.7.1994) ruled North Korea from 8.9.1948 until his dealth in 1994. His birth name was Kim Song-ju and in 1935 adopted the name of Kim Il-sung, meaning 'becoming the sun'. Kim Il-sung was the leader of North Korea since it was established in 1948 until his death. Between 1948 to 1972, he held the post of Prime Minister and from 1972 to 1994 as President of North Korea. Following his death, he was succeded by his son Kim Jong-il (b. 1941-2011). The senior Kim, according to officail records, was born in a small village in Mangyongdae (then called Namni). The reverse side of the 5000 Won shows the birth place of Kim.

Malaysia - Posted here is the RM50 with prefix ZD replacement note. This is my latest collection for this series. This is the forth series of the Malaysian banknotes, and was first released in early 2008 (circulating type) to commemorate the country's 50th independence. In 2009, a revised version of this note was issued, with the commemorate logo/text removed, was introduced. The replacement prefix for this series commenced with ZB.

Australia - 2013 full set. This is a full set reprints of all denominations from $5 to $100 (5 notes). All notes bear the facsimile signatures of Glenn Stevens (Governor) and Dr Martin Lee Parkinson (Secretary To The Treasury, appointed since 7.3.2011). It should be noted that this is the first time that these signatures combination are printed on the $20 and $100 denominations. This is also the first time a normal full set of notes were printed for a given year since 2008, and the forth full set since 1996.

Malaysia - One Ringgit Polymer. I have today added the RM1 polymer second reprint last prefix of EF to the post. The first print for this polymer series are with prefixes from AA to DD, The second print prefixes are from DF to EF. The prefix of DE was not used. There are minor differences on these two prints, mainly the denomination of One on the front and the horizontal bar on the bottom left corner. White lines are added to the designs.

Bosnia-Herzegovina - One Maraka issued in 1989. The SCWPM has listed this note as P59a. This is a rather cheap note, and this is also the only Bosnia-Herzegovina banknote I have in my collection since the end of the Bosnia war in 1995. The war started in 1992, and it went on for 3 years, eight months, 1 week and 1 day.

Slovenia - A couple of odd notes here. 100 Talorjer 1992 (P31a) and 500 Talorjer 500 2005 (P16c). Both notes are in UNC condition. I always believe that getting a full set is more enjoyable, but in this case, I have no such luck yet.

Honduras - Twenty Lempiras 2008 Polymer. I have updated this issue by adding two other prefixes of BP and BQ. Whilst only three prefixes reported, this issue also comes with two signatures variety. Both the BP and BQ notes have the same signatures while 2 signatures on the BR note are new.

China - The Peoples' Republic of China. First for the month of July, it's time to do some catching up. Here I have posted the Chinese full sets of 1980 and 1990 reprints here. The 1980 comes in 9 denominations as full set and the 1990 reprints only have 4 notes. I have these notes in my collection for quite a while now but was missing the odd notes to complete the series. I have now managed to get them all and therefore updating here on my site accordingly. I always believe that if you can, get them in full set, unless there are rare and expensive. Despite having such a large population in China and many notes have to be printed to satisfy circulations demand, some of these are now getting a bit pricy. I am correct to say that most serious collectors or collectors of East Asia bank notes would already have these notes in their collections.

Isle of Man - Isle of Man Bank Limited Peter Mark Shimmin. I have added the £20 note signed by the Isle of Man Treasury Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Peter Mark Shimmin to my £1 note collection. To date only two notes, £1 and £20, bear the signature of P M Shimmin with banknotes printed with the promise to pay text to include the word "Limited" have been sighted. It is not sure if any of the £5 and £10 notes are also printed with the similar text. However two other notes, £10 and £20, were previously issued without the word "Limited". It should be noted that Peter Mark Shimmin is no longer the Chief Financial Officer of the Isle of Man Treasury. He was appointed to the CFO post in October 2002 and left in April 2003 (in all 10 years and 7 months). With such a small population (approx. 85,000+/-), any new notes issued tend to last for a very long time, especially for the higher denominations. The current IOM £50 was signed by William Dawson and was first issued in 1983, and this note is still circulating on the island. The current CFO of Isle of Man Treasury is Malcolm Couch.

Jamaica - This is a new version of the Jamaica $50 Hybrid note released on 24.3.2014. The design of this note is the same as the previous $50 issued but with new appearance of the serial number on the top right corner. This serial number has a wave shape and the last 3 digits set against a blue background. This hybrid note was manufactured with a combination of protective polyester film layered around a cotton fiber core. The polyester film on the note makes it more durable. Whilst the cost for manufacturing such notes are more expensive, overall the bank expects to save substantially in the long run as the Hybrid banknote is expect to last at least 50% longer than the cotton based paper notes. In term of the appearance, this note is printed slightly difference from the previous issue as you can see the raised prints on both side of the note. This is the second Jamaican banknotes issued with protective polyester film layered around a cotton fiber core. The 2012 $100 commemorative note was also manufactured/printed with such technology. The new $50 note is dated 1.6.2013 and bears the signature of the bank's governor, Brian Wynter. Like the 2012 $100 commemorative Hybrid note, this note is also printed by Giesecke & Devrient (G&D). Jamaica has now issued Hybrid notes printed both by De La Rue (J$5,000) and Giesecke & Devrient.

Scotland - The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS). This is a RBS £20 note signed by the Bank's CEO Stephen Hester. This note is dated 23.06.2012 and is also the first reprint of the 2010 £20 issue. Like all previous reprints, the design of this note remains unchanged except that it has a new date imprinted on the note. This is also the only 2012 note issued (and sighted so far), apart from the 2012 £10 commemorative released celebrating the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. To date, only three denominations bearing the signature of Stephen Hester have been issued/sighted. Stephen Hester has since been replaced by Ross Maxwell McEwan who took over the CEO role as from 1.10.2013. The other denomination was the £5 note, first released with date 2008 and reprint date of 2010. I am wondering if the bank has printed more notes with Stephen Hester signature with new dates, yet to be released?

Ethiopia - A full set of Ethiopia notes from One Birr to 100 Birr (in all 5 notes). Unfortunately these are not all printed in the same year. The dates printed on these notes are between 2006 and 2008. All notes bear the same signature. These are cheap notes acquired just for the sake of collecting. Collecting them in full set is always nice, especially if they were all printed and issued in a same year.

Lebanon - Posted here is the new 50,000 Livres Polymer Commemorative note. This new 50,000 Livres commemorative polymer note was released on 15.05.2014 to celebrate the country’s central bank 50thAnniversary 1964-2014 – Banque Du Liban. The bank was established on 1.8.1963 and became fully operational on 1.4.1964. The bank is currently headed by the Governor Raid Salameh who was appointed to the post since 1.8.1993 on a six year term basis. This is his third term serving as the Governor of the central bank. This 50000 Livres is the second polymer note issued by the bank. The previous 50,000 Livres was issued on 22.11.2013 celebrating the country's 70th year of Independence 1943-2013. Both the polymer notes issued were printed by De La Rue.

Philippines - 100 Piso 2013 Commemorative. 2014 marks the centennial anniversary of Shell companies in the Philippines. Shell first started it's business in the Philippines in 1914. Today, Shell companies operations include oil and gas exploration, production, oil refining, distribution and sales to consumer. Shell is one of the country's largest investors and employing staff in excess of 3,000 nationwide. I must say that it is strange to see a country issuing a banknote to celebrate a private entity achievement.

1 June 2014 - Papua New Guinea 2013. These are reprints of the current Parliament series of 2, 10 and 20 Kina. The Parliament series was first issued in 2005 when the 100 Kina was first introduced. These three notes were released in November 2013. These notes bear the signatures of Loi Martin Bakani (Governor) and Simon Tosali (Secretary, Department of Treasury). Apart from these, in 2013 the Central Bank also issued two commemorative notes of 2 and 100 Kina with commemorative logo printed on the front of the notes. These two notes were issued to celebrate the Central Bank 40th Anniversary.
5 June 2014 - Hati 2001 Commemorative 20 Gourdes. These notes were issued to celebrate the country's constitution bicentenniary. There are three versions of this issue. One was printed with overprint texts to celebrate this special occasion. This note was issued in a folder format. One printed with sliver strip on the right instead of gold in colour and the third one printed with one set of 9-digit serial number on one side. The main design on the back of the note is the country's constitution, and if you can enlarge the note with your scanner, you can actually read the tests printed too, in French of course.
7 June 2014 - Great Britian Five Pounds commemorative. This is a numismatic commemorative issue, released by the Bank of England and the Royal Mint with a five pounds note and a five pounds coin. This commemorative issue was released in 1996 to celebrate the Queen's 70th birthday and as such a special cypher of HM70 was used for the serial number on the note. The design of the banknote was the same as those circulating notes at that time except that it has a special cypher of HM70. This HM70 prefix will not be produced for general circulation. The coin issued together with this note is a five pound crown is in BU condition. This coin is the third in a sequence of commemorative five-pound coins and is also the first United Kingdom coin issued to celebrate the birthday of a reigning monarch. A total sets of 5000 were issued for this special occasion.
12 June 2014 - Poland full set dated 5.1.2012. Here is a complete set of new notes issued in 2014 from 10 Zloty to 100 Zloty. These notes were introduced into circulation on 7.4.2014. The designs of these notes are the same as those previously issued but with new signatures and additional security features add. One of the most noticeable changes are the tiny little Omron rings added to the notes, on both front and back. In addition to this, the letters of "PWPW" are also printed on the reverse side of all the notes. PWPW or Polish Security Printing Works is the company that printed these notes. The 200 Zloty is not included in this release. These notes replace those previously issued since 1995. However between 2006 and 2009 five newly designed of notes were released to the public as commemorative issues.
14 June 2014 - Guatemala One Quetzal. Posted here are 2 x one Quetzal polymer notes reprints with dates of 2011 and 2012. Whilst these two are reprints of the previous issues of 2007 and 2008, the 2012 dated note has at least one minor alteration to the design. The transparent window is now printed with the face of General Jose Maria Orellana Pinto (1872-1926). The General was the country's President between 1921-1926. The prefix and suffix for both notes are the same and so are the signatures too. I have now added these two notes to my previous post.
20 June 2014 - Philippines 100 Piso 2013 commemorative. On 18.10.2012, the Philippines President Benigno S Aquino lll declared 2013 the National Year of Rice. The NYR is a government programme led by the Department of Agricultural. The aim of this programme is to achieve rice self sufficiency in the country. Rice is a staple food for more than half the world's population, and rice is also a staple food for the majority of the people in the Philippines as well. This programme involved everyone from the farmers to the end users by encouraging the use of better technologies to increase better quantity and quality of rice and also to reduce consumption wastage among the end users.
24 June 2014 - North Korea 2009 Specimen notes. Three of the specimen notes of the new Won 2009 issue, These notes are all dated 2008. This is the third series of the North Korean Won since it's inception in 1984. The North Korean Won are only meant for circulation in North Korea only and as such I do not think these notes are negotiable outside the country.
28 June 2014 - Israel Five Lirot dated 1968 P34b. There are two varieties of this issue. One printed with black serial number and the later printed with red. Here I have added the second print to my collection. This note is printed with the world famous scientist Albert Einstein.

1 May 2014 - Hong Kong Bank of China $100 3-in-1 Uncut Sheet. This is a limited commemorative uncut sheet which was issued in 2012 to celebrates the bank 100th year of
establishment (5.2.1912). A total sheets of 100,000 were issued at a price of HK$600 each. The bank originally started in 1905 when the
last Chinese Imperial government (Qing Dynasty 1644-1911) established Daqing Hubu Bank. In 1908, the bank changed it's name to Daqing Bank. Following the establishment of
the Republic of China in 1911, the bank was then renamed Bank of China by the
Nationalist Kuomintang government let by Dr Sun Yet-sen. After the Chinese civil war ended (1.10.1949) between the Communist and the Nationalist, the bank split into two operations, with one part of it's
operation shifted to Taiwan under the Nationalist Kuomintang government let by Chiang Kai-shek. The Taiwan operation later changed it's
name in 1971 and merged with the Taiwan Bank of Communication. The
mainland operation's name remains unchanged. BoC, by market capitalisation, is
the 5th largest bank in the world. Even though BoC is owned by the government of the Peoples' Republic of China, it is not the Central of China (Peoples' Bank of China). BoC operates in 27 countries and
employed staffs in excess of 280,000 worldwide. The BoC (Hong Kong
branch) commenced it's operation in 1917. The bank was forced to closed
temporary during the Japanese occupation in 1941 and reopened in 1946
following the end of the war. Right up to 1942, BoC issued banknotes in China on behalf of the Nationalist government. In 1994, the BoC (HK) was granted the
license in Hong Kong to issue banknotes in the territory. The primary colour of this note is in red, an auspicious and iconic colour, representing jubilation and passion.
3 May 2014 - Australia 1995 NPA annual Premium full set (Red Serial Nos set). This is the second set of the series, after the first issue in 1994 which comprises of the $5 and $10 notes. This set comes in three notes, $5, $10 and $20 and all printed with red matching serial numbers. A total sets of 1,000 were printed but as usual only 900 sets were released to the public with the remaining 100 sets retained by the bank's archive. These folder sets were sold separately but back then when you purchased them in full set you can request them with matching serial numbers. The original issue price for these folders were $50 for the $5, $65 for the $10 and $85 for the $20. Despite only 900 sets were made available to the public, the demand for these notes were not as good as compared to those Deluxe sets (black serial nos). Until now, you can still be able to find them selling at a fairly reasonable price. When come to demand for Premium sets, Australia does not always follow the rest of the world. Low quantity does not necessary resulted in higher in demand as collectors are looking for value for money and reasonable pricing too, like the Deluxe set. Based on what I have observed for many years, not many dealers are also willing to stock such products either, mostly due to poor in demand by collectors or the lack of interest in such numismatic products. The number one premium set was sold at an auction for $3,000. Proceeds from the sale was donated to a charity organisation.
8 May 2014 - Brazil, a full set of the 2013 new issues. The modern Real was first introduced in 1994, replacing the previous currency - Cruzeiro, following a monetary reform to stop three decades of rampant hyperinflation in the country. The Real was initially introduced at par with the US Dollar but devalued over the years to now less that half the value of US dollar. This set of new notes was first announced in February 2010 and later released to the public for circulation in December 2013.
11 April 2014 - Great Britain £5 Commemorative note. This note was issued in an envelope folder together with a £5 coin and a £5 postage stamp. This was a joint issue with the Bank of England, the Royal Mint and the Royal Mail to celebrate the late Queen Mother Queen Elizabeth 100th birthday. The Queen Mother was born on 4.8.2000 and passed away on 30.3.2002, aged 101 plus. Like all previously numismatic issues, this £5 note is the same as the normal Merlyn Lowther £5 note issued but with special prefix of QM10. Only 10,000 sets issued of which 1,000 were issued with a postage stamp of £5.
15 May 2014 - Australia 1998 NPA Annual Premium full set (Red Serial Nos set). This is the second full annual Premium set issued, after the 1997 sets released the previous year. Unlike previous year, this was issued in a complete set of 5 notes and as such this is the only way you can get them with red serial numbers and not via individual notes. A total sets of 1,000 were printed
but as usual only 900 sets were released to the public with the remaining 100 sets retained by the bank's archive. All sets were issued with matching serial numbers and the original issue price was $480.00. Despite only 900 sets made available to collectors and was initially selling for $480.00 ($285.00 for the deluxe black serial numbers set), the demand for these premium sets (just like all other Premium sets previously issued) were not that particular popular. Until now, you can still be able to find them selling at a fairly reasonable. When come to demand for annual polymer folder sets, Australia does not always follow the rest of the world in term of it’s demand. Low quantity issues do not necessary resulted in higher in demand as collectors are looking for value for money and reasonable pricing too. 17 May 2014 - Great Britain - 2002 Queen Golden Jubilee Commemorative Cover. This is a numismatic product issued to celebrate the Queen's Golden Jubilee 1952-2002. The cover comprises of two stamps, a £5 Crown coin and a £5 banknote signed by the Chief Cashier Merlyn Lowther. both the coin and banknotes are legal tender. The note used for this commemorative issue is the same design as those normal £5 note but with a special and unique prefix of QE50. This is the only prefix used for this commemorative issue and was not used for those in normal circulation. A total sets of 1,500 were printed. With such a large population in the UK, this is by any definition is a very small issue.
23 May 2014 - Croatia 2001 and 2002 Issues of six notes from 5 to 200 Kuna. The first 3 notes are all dated 2001 whilst the remaining three are with 2002 dates. These were reprints of previous 1993-1995 issues but under the new bank name of Hrvatska Narodna Banka or Croatia National Bank. Previous notes were printed with the central bank name of the National Bank of Croatia. Unlike previous issues, the highest denomination printed for this series was the 200 Kuna. However the 500 and 1000 Kuna printed in 1993 and 1994 respectively are still legal tender. These are the only high value denominations printed since independence. Below are details of the notes release dates;
25 May 2014 - Scotland Bank of Scotland. This is a reprint of the Bank of Scotland 100 Pounds note dated 1.8.2011. This Bridge series note was first introduced in 2007. A second reprint dated 2009 for the 100 pounds was then issued and now this 2011 reprint. This note bears the signatures of Antonio Horta-Osorio and Philip Grant. Two other denominations were also issued with the date of 1.8.2011, ie 5 and 50 pounds and I have added this to my previous post.
31 May 2014 - Australia 1999 NPA annual Premium full set of 5 notes from
$5 to $100. Like the previous 1998 issues, this set was the last NPA annual Premium set
issued. Again, a total of 1,000 sets printed and only 900 sets (AA99 000 101 to
AA99 001 000) were made available to collectors at $480.00 per set. All notes
come with matching red serial numbers. Red serial number notes are only issued
either in annual folders or for notes printed for specific purposes, such as commemorative
or joint venture issues like with Australia Post, Australia Royal Mint etc. In 1999, only the $50 and $100 were printed for general circulation. To get a full set, one will have to get either the annual Premium or Deluxe set. This is the last of the Commemorative/Numismatic product of Australia printed in Polymer since 1988 that I have in my collection. There are still 2 other issues that I so not have and there are the 1988 Bicentenary Three Coin & Three Banknote Portfolio Album and the 1998 Ten Dollar Note Portraits. The 1988 Bicentenary Three Coin & Three Banknote Album comprises of one $10 1988 Portraits Polymer notes. However the notes (including the paper $2 and $5) are just normal circulating type with no special prefix letters or overprint text. The 1998 $10 Portraits Polymer notes were not popular among collectors and was abandoned shortly after it was released. Again the notes used for this series was also normal notes but with letter prefixes of AA98 and AB98.
