on polymer substrate.

PAPUA NEW GUINEA - Here, I have uploaded 3 banknotes of Papua New Guinea all issued in 1988 with the signatures of
Sir Henry ToRobert (b.1942-(Governor) and John Vulupindi (Secretary, Department of Finance). I posted these notes today as I just learnt from the news that Papua New Guinea first Prime Minister Sir Michael has just passed away at the age of 84. Sir Micahel Somare was born in 1936. He became Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea following gaining independence from Australia on 16.09.1975 to 1980. He then became the Prime Minister again between 1982 to 1985; 2002 to 2010 and then another 77 days from 17.01.2011 to 04.04.2011. He retired from politics in 2017. His portrait has been printed on the 50 kina banknotes (both paper and polymer) since 1989.
