Macau, Bank of China - Here are the two banknotes of 10 and 20 patacas released on 01.02.2024. News for these two notes were unveiled in late October 2023 and were released before the Chinese New Year 2024. As these are the new series of banknotes, only the 10 and 20 patacas are released and the rest of the series will be issued over the next few years. This new series will eventually replace the 2008 series.

Macau, Banco Nacional Ultramarino - Here are the two notes of 10 and 20 patacas both dated 18.05.2020.
These two notes were released on 01.02.2024 before the 2024 Chinese New
Year celebration. This is a new series of banknotes and a full set
comprises six notes from 10 to 1000 patacas. Only the 10 and 20 patacas
are released and the remaining denomination will be made available over
the next few years.

Great Britain - A full set of four polymer notes (nd2024) all released on 05.06.2024. Unlike the first polymer series, all these four notes were made available to the public on the same day. It has been a long time since the Bank of England has issued banknotes in full sets.

Cash is (still) King - I have a short story to tell. I am sure many people would have experienced this one way or the other. I have a dormant account with a bank and this is not my normal bank that I have all my daily transactions with. This account was opened in 2020 and it has a balance of $100Cr since then. When the account was opened, the bank also issued me a Visa Debit Card so that I can use it for any purchases subject to availability of funds held in my account. On 11.07.2024, I received a call from the bank asking me if I had used the card for a $33.47 purchase? As I have not used the card since I opened the account, I informed the bank that I did not and have requested the bank to cancel the card immediately. I have seen many crooks scamming on credit cards but I was not aware that they can do it when the card has not been used before. Most of these scams are usually on small amounts like fast food purchases, taxi rides, iTune downloads etc. The bank informed me that the scammer could have randomly generated the card numbers and as such my card was the chosen one. Like many people have been doing, the moral of the story is to regularly check your account for any unusual activities. It can take the bank between 4-6 weeks to investigate your claim and if you can report it early, the bank can stop all future potential losses. Whilst electronic banking is good and convenient, it is also a pain that they are scumbags out there trying to steal from your hard earned money. If you wonder why I bother to keep the account opened. I opened this account back in 2020 with the bank so that I can get the new $100 issued for my collection, and if you are not a customer, they may not assist you with your requirement. The bank was kind enough to order the notes for me in UNC condition.

New Zealand - This is a second reprint of a $50 polymer note issued, first introduced in 2016 (Brighter Money Series). The first reprint was issued with the date of (nd)2018 and also bearing the signature of the Governor Adrian Orr.

Samoa - In December 2023, the central bank announced three new banknotes to be issued. These three notes are all printed on polymer substrate materials. On 18.12.2023, the bank then released the first denomination of 5 tala, with the remaining two denominations released on 23.01.2024.
21st July 2024
Morocco - Here are the two notes of 100 and 200 dirhams both issued in 2023. These are normal circulating banknotes, both featuring the King of Morocco, King Mohammed VI.
26th July 2024
Yemen - Five notes of 100, 200, 500, 1000 and 5000 rials. These notes are printed with the year dates of 2016, 2017 and 2018. Whilst this is a full set, the signatures are not. The interesting story for this series is the 5000 rials. These 5000 rials notes were reportedly printed in 2016 or 2017 and were ordered by the Central Bank of Yemen in the Northern capital of Sana'a, under control by the Houthi rebels backed by Iran and Russia. Then around 2017, a truck load of such notes were seized by tribesmen. Since then, none of these notes surfaced until early 2024 when they appeared in the numismatic market. If I have to judge on the authenticity of this note, I would say that this is a counterfeit print as it lacks those normal or usual security features.

Brunei - This is an odd note of 10 ringgit polymer note printed with the year date of 2013. This is not the only 2013 print as the 1, 100 and 500 all dated 2013 were also issued and I have posted these in separate posts, together with the same denominations. Going forward, I will post them according to the year of issue.
