Japan - Three new banknotes issued on 03.07.2024 by the Bank of Japan. The printing of this new series was first announced in late 2022, when the Bank of Japan invited companies to test the new series of banknotes. A slight change of the way (format) as to how I have posted the banknotes here. I believe if you click onto the images, you should be able to view the banknotes at 300dpi.

Thailand - This is a commemorative polymer note issued to commemorate the King of Thailand's King Rama X's 6th Cycle (72nd birthday) birthday celebration. King Maha Vajiralongkorn (King Rama X) was born on 28.07.1952. This commemorative note was released on 23.07.2024, 5 days before the King's birthday.

Abkhazia (Georgia) - Two commemorative banknotes of 10 and 100 apsar, both released on 10.06.2024. Both notes are dated 2024. Whilst these two notes were released as commemorative notes, I have no idea what they are celebrating or commemorating for?

Solomon Islands - On 28.12.2023, the Central Bank of Solomon Islands released two new notes of $50 and $100. The designs for these two notes are similar to those previously issued in 2013 and 2015 but with added security features, which include an embedded 17 mm wide micro-optic stripe band on the front of the notes. The micro-optic strip replaced the Optiks security thread of the previous series. Here I have posted the two same notes both printed with the word 'Specimen' on the front and back.

Mauritania - Early this year, two unissued notes of 1000 ouguiya appeared in the numismatic market for sale. Now more have been released and below, I have posted the three notes of 100, 200 and 1000 ouguiya. These notes were printed back in the 1970s, but were not released into circulation and now the central bank has given collectors around the world the opportunity to get them as souvenirs. It is not sure why these three notes were not released then. These notes are dated 1975 (100 ouguiya) and 1977 (for the 200 and 1000 ouguiya) and all notes were reportedly printed by Thomas De La Rue & Co (DLR). The signatures on all the three notes are also the same. These are the only three remaining unissued notes and are now available to collectors. There are plenty available in the market right now. Prior to these releases, only the printer's specimen notes were available.

Croatia - I have added the 50 kuna Series 2012 note, thus completed my collection for this series. Croatia was admitted to the European Union on 01.07.2013 and adopted the Euro currency on 01.01.2023. As at 01.01.2024, the Kuna currency became non-legal tender but can exchange them for Euro currency at the Croatian National Bank without a time limit. However, if you have them in UNC condition, it is worth more than its face value and the value can only go up higher in the future.

Bermuda - This is a third print of the $20 Hybrid note, since it was first introduced in 2009. The theme for this series are local animals on the front and well known places or buildings on the back. As this is a reprint, and it also has a new Chairman's signature printed on the note. There are no changes to the design except for the signature. This note is also printed with the date of 01.01.2009.

The Kingdom of Yugoslavia - This is a 1000 dinara note and was issued by the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. This note is printed with a date of 01.12.1931, and according to a website, it was released for circulation on 01.01.1933. This note formed part of the first series of banknotes issued by the kingdom and a full set consists of 10, 50, 100 and 1000 dinara. The 1000 dinara is the largest denomination for this series and this is the only one note I have in my collection. The note I have posted here is in uncirculated condition and I bought this note from a coin dealer here, who acquired this note and many other notes from a private collector. When I visited the dealer, unfortunately, only two notes were worth buying, in my opinion, as the rest of the notes are common and easy to find. I bought this note because of its beauty and also its rich history in this part of the world during the turn of the last century. Interesting fact about this region is that the Kingdom of Yugoslavia was created (01.12.1918) after the end of the First World War but only lasted after the end (29.11.1945) of the Second World War. It is also due to a political assassination of an heir to the throne of an empire in this region that led to the beginning of the First World War. The assassination was planned but the opportunity to be able to carry it out was just pure luck. It is sad to say that the assassination carried out by a young man led to the start of the war and caused the loss of 20 million lives in just four years.

Cambodia - Posted here are two notes, both printed with the year date of 2022. These two notes were reportedly released for circulation on 14.11.2022. The designs on these notes are completely new and were issued for general circulation. The 200 riels is a new denomination since the tenth series of banknotes released in 1992-1993. Two Hundred Riels.
