Northern Ireland, Northern Bank Limited - This is a Northern Bank Ltd bank's training specimen note issued for the purpose of assisting training the bank's tellers/staff. 4th April 2024
Myanmar - Here are the two notes both issued in 2020. The 1000 kyats note was issued on 04.01.2020 to coincide with the 72nd Year of Independence anniversary (04.01.1948) from the British. The 500 kyats note was released on 19.07.2020, which is also celebrated as Martyr's Day in Myanmar. This is the day in 1947 when several leaders of Myanmar's (Burma) independence movement were gunned down including their leader Aung San. For this purpose, I have also posted these two notes on my Commemorative site as commemorative issues as well.
6th April 2024
Papua New Guinea - Here is a 50 kina nd2023 polymer commemorative note issued for the celebration of the 50th year of self-governing and independence 1973 - 2023.
11th April 2024
South Africa - This is a full set of five notes all released on 03.05.2023. The themes for these notes are basically the same as the 2013-2016 series but with updated security features. However, the designs on the back are completely new but still maintain the theme as per previous issues.
14th April 2024
Mexico - Here are the reprints of five polymer banknotes all dated 05.10.2021. These are commemorative notes released to celebrate the Bicentennial of Independence of Mexico from Spanish rule. Independence was achieved on 27.09.1810. The war for independence started on 16.09.1810.
20th April 2024
Thailand - I have added the 20 baht polymer nd2022 note to my previous post with the second variety. This note was first issued on 24.03.2022 and both notes have the same combination of signature but not printed with the same polymer substrate material - Safeguard and Guardian. I was not aware of these until when I bought the Guardian type and realised that I did not have this note in my collection. The easiest way to tell the difference between these two notes is to look at the transparent window of the 20 denomination value. You can see the numeral '20' is much clearer for the Safeguard print.
25th April 2024
East Germany - Here are four notes issued by the Forum Außenhandelsgesellschaft m.b.H. (Forum Foreign Trade Company m.b.H.), and all notes are dated 1979. A complete set consists of 50 pfennig, 1, 5, 10, 50, 100 and 500 marks. The value of these Foreign Exchange Certificates (FEC) or Forum Cheques were issued at par with the West German mark, and to enable foreigners to purchase high quality goods at specific shops (Intershops) controlled by the East Germany government. These high quality goods are usually from or associated with Western countries, and these Intershops only accept the Forum Cheques as payments and not the East German mark.
27th April 2024
Paraguay - I have added the 2000 guaranis polymer note series with the date of Ano 2023 (Year 2023) to my previous post. To date five polymer notes for this denomination have been issued - 2008, 2009, 2011, 2017 and now 2023.
