March Postings 2024

March 2024
Autumn 2024

1st March 2024

Solomon Islands - This is a commemorative polymer note of 10 dollars issued on 27.10.2023 to celebrate the 17th Pacific Games held in the capital city of Honiara in Solomon Islands. The sporting tournament was held from 19.11.2023 to 02.12.2023. There were 24* nations competing in this tournament. Here I have posted the normal note as well as the one with the replacement prefix. Only one million pieces were issued.

4th March 2024

Iraq - Here I have posted three notes of 5000, 25000 (Hybrid) and 50000 dinars (Hybrid) all printed with the year date of 2021. It is believed that these are the only three notes issued for this particular year. The 5000 dinars is printed on paper material, whilst the remaining two are on Hybrid. There are no changes to these designs, except the year of 2021.

8th March 2024

East Caribbean - This is a new $2 commemorative polymer note issued for the celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank. The announcement of the new $2 note was made on 01.12.2023 by the Minister for Finance of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Chairman of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) Monetary Council Camillo Gonsalves, and the Governor of ECCB Timothy N.J. Antoine. The commemorative notes were made available to the public via commercial banks on 06.12.2023.

10th March 2024

Guernsey - I have added the one pound note P48b to my previous post. This note bears the signature of Michael John Brown who was the States Treasurer of the States of Guernsey from 1990 to 1996. During his tenure in office, there were two versions of this series issued, mainly due to the sizes of the note. Unfortunately I only have the two versions of the £1 pound note. This note that I have added to my earlier post was the large size note, together with the small size note posted earlier. This note that I have added is measured at 136mm x 67mm.

11th March 2024

Kingdom of eSwatini - Here is a 200 emalangeni hybrid banknote printed with the date of 06.09.2023. This is the reprint of the 2017 issue but with a new date and new signatures. This note was reportedly released on 11.09.2023. The date printed on the note is also the nation's independence day. The country was previously occupied by the United Kingdom until 06.09.1968. The British occupation of Eswatini started in 1903 after the end of the Second Boer War (1899-1902).

16th March 2024

Solomon Islands - I posted the circulating note on 01.03.2024. Here, I have posted the specimen note for the same polymer commemorative series. I have no information as to how many have been printed. As this series is printed by DLR, I would guess the quantity would be between 300 to 500 pieces. It is unlikely they would have printed anything more than that. The specimen note that I have posted here is also printed with a tiny control number on the bottom left corner. However, it is not sure if there are other varieties for this specimen series.

20th March 2024

Mauritania - Two banknotes of 1000 ouguiya were reported recently and were printed with the date of 1981 and 1989. Both notes were not issued then, but it is now available to collectors. I bought them just out of curiosity despite it's pricey price tag, as I like collecting official and unissued banknotes, just like those 1990 Poland unissued sets.

24th March 2024

Vanuatu - I have added the 1000 vatu nd2020 polymer note to my previous 200 vatu nd2020 note. It is not sure if other denominations, apart from the 200a and 1000 vatu notes have been issued.

 29th March 2024

Papua New Guinea - I have added two notes of 5 and 20 kina polymer both printed with (nd)2021 to my previous post. Not sure if the remaining notes for the 2 and 10 kina (nd)2021 were also printed.

30th March 2024

Egypt - Posted here is a 10 pounds polymer banknote released on 05.07.2022 by the Central Bank of Egypt. Since the release of this note, a reprint for the 10 pounds polymer was also issued in 2023. Here, I have only posted the first issue of this polymer banknote.
