P/S...just collected my 100th flag (from Bahrain) today (31.12.2010). Nothing special, I thought I just want to mention it. This is the beauty of Internet where collectors from all four corners of the earth can view the collection from the comfort of their homes!

Acknowledgment

I have been collecting banknotes for many years, even when PC or Internet services were not commercialised then. In those days, without the aid of modern technologies, getting new notes was a bit of a challenge. The only way to get them in uncirculated condition was either from banks, ATM, dealers or collector friends via snail mails. I remembered when I first started, banknotes collections were still in infancy stage, as most collectors I knew then were either stamps of coins collectors. Whilst I started off with few foreign banknotes given by family members, I remember my first foreign banknotes came from a Pen Pal friend in South Korea (P38 - 100 Won ND1965). I wonder how she is doing now. Until today, I still have that note in my collection.

The bulk of my collections are in uncirculated condition. As my main focus on my collections is mainly on common notes, and therefore, chances are you too would have the same notes which I have already collected.

Whilst my collection may not seem much to others, my achievement would not have made possible without the generous assistance given to me by my family, brothers, sisters, in-laws, nephews, nieces, friends, collector friends and of course, those great dealers (if the price is right) from all over the world. And for that I thank them all.

Banknotes collection is indeed a wonderful hobby. There is no age limit in picking up this hobby, and once you are hooked into this you are more or less committed for life. I have met collectors who ventured into this hobby when there are in the 50s and even 60s years young, and therefore there is no such thing as too late to collect. All one is needed is a very deep pocket!

And finally, I would like to acknowledge my sincere thanks to my wife for her support, despite that we are running a monthly deficit without fail. Thank “God” I alos have the bank to assist me in this area too. Without my wife support, I would not be able to acquire the level of banknotes I have collected so far.

For those who are enjoying in this wonderful hobby, have fun and continue to enjoy this great hobby, after all who doesn't want Money? I do, regardless of it’s condition………!
